Newly-Confirmed Airing Season/Dates
 

You may have noticed that we have started an "experiment" of putting the airing season (if known) in front of the title of the threads in the Upcoming Series section.

To help keep this organized, please use this thread to post any updates/changes that need to be made to the threads based on new confirmations of airing seasons/dates for shows. (Rumours do not apply.)

If possible, please use the show's title, link to the thread, and indicate the season it is now confirmed to air in. If there is a source, please post that link as well.

For entirely-new anime announcements, please use the New Announced Anime thread instead.


NOTE: This is an experimental feature, and we may remove it if it proves too complicated or if it doesn't work out.

How does this work for movies though? Aura will be released in theatres on April 13th so that would make it spring 2013, however most people won't be able to watch it until the blu rays come out, so should it be that date that's indicated? (if so then there's no announcement yet)

Thanks. I saw this one too, but it already has the "CR" prefix, and right now I can only choose one. Since it'll be moved soon, I figured I'd leave it that way for now.


That's a good question... Right now, unless I'm mistaken, movies are in the "Upcoming Series" section until they air in theatres, and then they get moved to "Current"... even though it's true that most people won't see them until they're released on disc. So for now I guess the date should be the theatre date.

Maybe we need a better way to handle movies in general. Not sure, but open to suggestions...

Some shows don't get dates until relatively late.

This isn't for shows that are currently airing or in the coming season, because in that case we already know. (I maintain another database for this information, so I'm pretty current on it.)

This is more for shows in the mid-term future between the time when they're first announced to the time when they at least announce the general season when they'll air.

(Besides that, making a thread prefix with the actual date in it is too complicated. I could edit the thread title to include the date, but I think it could also confuse people due to time zones and other issues.)

You can make one that has both in them "CR, Q3, 20XX". You'd have double the tags but since you're including the year and not using relatives (ie. "Fall", as in Fall: Something something [2013]) you have or will have a ton of prefixes anyway.

Can we drop the Unknown in front of series without a date, you know just assume it's unknown because it has no date in the first place?

This is basically at the discretion of the thread creator (since the staff don't specifically set Unknowns), but I suppose we could remove that option from the list. I just figured that some people may pick a wrong option if they don't see an appropriate one in the list, not understanding the "otherwise leave blank" principle.

I think it's fine for it to be unknown. Blank means "I was too lazy to pick anything," or "totally forgot about it." It's not really a choice since it's also the default.
