Tales of the Heroes: Twin Brave (PSP)

So yeah leaked and all, the new radiant mythology not called radiant mythology, characters from Phantasia to Xillia

It's apparently for the PSP and not the Vita... weird actually.

Please god judith!!

It's not an RPG, apparently is a musou/Hack and slash game. That is sudden but not surprising.

Shinji103 2011-09-16 03:34

I say this knowing fully well it's at least 99% guaranteed never to happen, but after the awesomeness that was them in Endless Frontier Exceed for the NDS, it would only be more awesome if Axel Almar and Einst Alfimi crossed dimensions again to show up as bonus characters in a Tales of crossover game like this or Radiant Mythology. :D Bandai Namco does make both SRW and the Tales series, after all. Those two would in particular be cool to have in a musou game like this.

I said this on another site for a different game: It isn't weird. It's marketing.

Vita will be able to play PSP games, as well as being region free. The PSP users will still be able to play, since its for PSP and not Vita. Both handhelds get the game. Simple pragmatism.

What started out as JRPG, expanded slightly into a fighting game, and now they have a hack and slash game as well... Mark my words, the Tales of Dating Sim isn't far behind :D

Zelos... Like a boss!

Hope we will get more than 2 characters/series :\

Just for the sake of asking, will this feature multiplayer?

It should... I mean, why else would they intentionally just pick two characters from each series... Specifically the most popular 'team-up'.

Anyway, here's the new PV with scenes from the Game's Opening... Damn good song I might add :D

So according to the PV video, the pairings are based on who would make the best partners.....and they chose Cheria as Asbel's partner over Sophie?? Looking at these pairs of characters they selected from each Tales game, they're obviously not chosen based purely on romantic value. (unless Loyd+Zelos, among other team-ups there, is Bamco selling some bromance....) Cheria was Asbel's romantic interest (despite how they were clearly making Asbel out to have a crush on Sophie in the prologue, but I digress :heh:), but Sophie was his partner.

According to the Aeslia wikia, some time ago there was a poll to see which are the "ideal combinations" and Yuri and Flynn came in first.

So yeah, I guess that's how the 'pairings' are chosen, via polls and fan favorites. Otherwise if we're talking about 'partners', obviously Repede would be Yuri's wingman. And from the past Tales of Festivals skits, I find that Cheria gets more attention than Sophie :p Likewise, both Loyd and Zelos are insanely more popular than any of their female characters.

Eh, actually I'd disagree with that; we're not just talking about partners in the literal sense of the word, but in the story/plot/character dynamic as well. Yuri and Flynn had the dynamic going, probably moreso than any other partnership in the Tales series, which is also probably why they're the ones featured in the Tales of Heroes logo.

Meh, catering to the fanboys/girls over keeping the dynamic. Ugh. :( (though Lloyd+Zellos has the partner dynamic going, so that's okay)

Tales has always been fan driven... Or rather fangirls driven, why else would 9 out of ten of the popular characters be males :p Why else would Zelos keep reappearing every damn year, and why would anyone prefer long-hair Luke to the short hair version?!

*cough*

Anyway, here's the full list:

Xillia's Jude Mathis and Milla Maxwell.
Graces' Asbel Lhant and Cheria Barnes.
Hearts' Shing Meterorite and Kohak Hearts.
Innocence's Luca Milda and Spada Belforma.
Vesperia's Yuri Lowell and Flynn Scifo.
DotNW's Emil Castagnier and Marta Lualdi.
Tempest's Caius Qualls and Rubia Netwick.
Abyss' Luke fon Fabre and Guy Cecil.
Legendia's Senel Coolidge and Chloe Valens.
Rebirth's Veigue Lunhberg and Tytree Crowe.
Symphonia's Lloyd Irving and Zelos Wilder.
Destiny 2's Kyle Dunamis and Reala.
Eternia's Reid Hershel and Farah Orested.
Destiny's Stahn Aileron and Leon Magnus.
Phantasia's Cress Albane and Chester Barklight.

While the game looks to be on-par with a crappy Dynasty Warriors knockoff, the story looks like it might be interesting, unlike the RM games (>.>)...

Atrum023 2012-01-25 20:51

I don't really quite care about the plot since I can only understand half of what's being said in Japanese. Rather, I just look forward to using Tales characters from other series since the only console I have is a PSP. So Tales of the Heroes: Twin Brave and Radiant Mythology is okay for me.

Anyway, aside from what's shown already (in the PV), will there be anything new (in the system) to look forward too?

Chaos2Frozen 2012-04-05 10:56

Forgotten all about this when Graces F came out :heh: However this game may turn out- you have to admit, at least the song is good :D
