the silver coat below it worked out just fine! this really pisses me off because i had the exact same problem with the tamiya clear blue spray can that i bought XP

it might be due to the silver paint? try spraying the clear blue onto some spare runners and see whether it behaves the same way. if so i guess there's either something wrong with your thinning or the paint. :(

it does behave the same way, that was the first thing i thought about :P
i think the paint just sucks....
but like i said, im just gonna spray the blue pieces golden now. metal paint always sticks better and it will look awesome :P

just painted a bunch of the pieces. worked out just fine and looks great^^ i could have gone with a regular blue for these pieces but since i had so much trouble with this kit i figured i might as well go all out XP

So... I finally ordered my first two MG's: Freedom and Wing (TV). Now I'll have to wait until they finally arrive. Appel, Do you know what they charge you at customs for importing kits? Since our countries are neighbouring I expect the rates to be somewhat similar.

im not quite sure... according to this website you have to pay 4.7% customs duty and 19% turnover tax for a car model. but the customs duty depends on what kinds of items you import, so maybe you dont have to pay that.
so id say IF you have to pay anything you will have to pay at least 19% of the total amount including shipping costs.

and those are some good MGs if you have never built one^^ they are easy to build but still awesome!

Whoa, thanks man. You actually went throught the trouble of looking it up for me. And yeah, from what I've read from you guys here and rrobbert184 and such, they are pretty basic for MG's. I picked them because they were easy but also because 1: Freedom just looks awesome and 2. Wing does too but it's especially about the nostalgic value of the suit. Wing was both my first gundam- and "real" anime-series (pokémon and DBZ don't count in my eyes) I've ever seen so, this is a sort of tribute to that :)

dont mention it, it just took me a minute on google XD

i got these kits pretty much for the same reason (although i got the wing ver.ka and not the TV version). i knew that they would be rather basic but i NEEDED to have them! especially the freedom. in my case seed was the first gundam related show i watched^^

im also almost finished with the exias pieces. gonna finish the last bunch of parts tomorrow and maybe ill finish it on friday :P

edit: woa! the MG OOQ with LEDs and fibre optic cables! O_O
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_i8fwuSg_K...Cg/s1600/1.jpg

now THAT is what the OOQ should look like^^
but in my opinion thats something that bandai could improve on, proper lighting. they always just give us some LEDs and the light goes everywhere but you cant really get the light to many places with that... they kinda tried it with the strike freedom lightning edition but only with mixed success in my opinion.
i dont think something like this would be too difficult to implement in something like a PG kit!
that would be really cool, you wouldnt have to switch on all LEDs individually but just one and then the whole kit lights up^^

speaking of 00Q i just got in my MG Full saber from Ebay.. wow the pieces are already coloured, but the instructions are hard to picture, i think they forgot 1 or 2 pages cause this is looking to be confusing in my eyes.. i guess that is what we get for resin kits.. i will post pics of it when its all finished..

id actually be interested in the MG full saber OOQ... i just have never seen it on ebay! can you link me to it?
and how does one build that thing? do you glue it or is it a snap together thing like regular bandai kits? i just have no experience with resin at all, i only know that inhaling resin dust equals really REALLY bad XD

so far its just getting rid of the big nubs.. and trimming down the plastic to fit into places.. got my work cut out for me.. You have to glue it, but its trying to figure out which part goes where cause the instructions suck big time..

that looks pretty neat! but i dont really want to pay so much... i mean, its an auction so its just going to get more expensive :P ill just keep my OOQ the way it is, i guess i prefer lead gundams the way they first appear, anyway^^

i only paid $46 with shipping. i was willing to goto 60 on the bid but i was the only buyer.

Appel 2011-09-14 19:06

thats still a bit much for 34 pieces of resin in my opinion :P

just wondering, are resin pieces much heavier than the normal bandai plastic?

as far as i have heard the green parts really are clear.
and about the weight, at this size you probably dont feel a lot of a difference. im not sure but it should weigh about the same, anyway. we played around with polyurethane in school a little and it had a similar weight to it as plastic.
what im concerned about though is how stable resin pieces are. i have heard that they can be fairly brittle!

The pieces are a tad heavier then Bandai's plastic, which is good cause i like the counter weight cause of the shoulder shield on the other side.. The plasic is brittle only on the small pieces but the rest are fairly strong cause how big they are. I already cracked one piece in which the molds didnt go together but its an easy fix. They do come the right colour but you still have to paint it.. The nub marks are so big they show a mile away and can't hide them.

i see!
and about the nubs, yeah i thought so. basically you always need to paint resin kits. just like any other kit that needs to be glued.

edit: the MG FA unicorn will be on display at the all japan model hobby show this year. so chances are that it really is the december MG kit this year!
http://gundamguy.blogspot.com/2011/0...w-october.html

thats interesting... i didnt expect bandai to release a FA unicorn so soon. but they can still release an OVA unicorn later :P i mean, the ver.ka unicorn was released before the OVA started, too so it wouldnt surprise me of they did!

I still wonder if Bandai is going to release a MG version of the 00 Qan[T] Full Saber...

maybe... i mean, the full saber OOQ was just a simulation in the manga but the OO seven sword /G was actually used.
they might do it like the delta gundam (which also was never actually build in the gundam continuity). they want to release a delta gundam if the delta plus and the upcoming hyku shiki 2.0 sell well. maybe they will release a FS OOQ when the OO seven sword sells well enough?
but since they havent released a lot of kits from the movie i kinda doubt that they will ever release it.
