MG Victory, think the V2 will be an all-in-one kit or Bandai will milk us with three versions? I bought both the HG assault and buster to make the V2AB before.

My hope is for a MG Xi gundam and penelope.

jackyng222 2008-03-21 13:52

I have a question about whether to use grey or black panel lines:

which color panel lines look more realistic, pleaseable, and not as cartoonish?
Grey or black?

ex., what color did this person use?
http://www.geocities.jp/a2crafts/exia01.htm

Im thinking black and I'm wondering if it stands out too much.

redbones 2008-03-21 14:57

He used german grey (white parts) and hullred + khaki (some colored parts)

http://www.tamiya.com/english/produc...t/enamel_2.htm

Astrana 2008-03-21 17:54

well, with grey panel lines, if want them darker just apply them again.

fuck why cant they make MG avalanche , 1/100 is still nice, MG would be way nicer

duotiga 2008-03-21 18:49

since they got the mold for 1/100 Exia, convert it to avalanche exia is easier

Exactly. And though wikipedia isn't the most reliable site when it comes to credibility, I did see this interesting note on their MG list:

According to Jan 08 issue of Hobby Japan and Dengeki Hobby, MG Gundam Ver. 2.0 is under development, it will feature core system, G-Armor linkage and a brand new new[sic] technology.

Hmm...

Patience, my friend. It's almost certain that MG Exia will come out any time now, and when it does, Avalanche Exia might follow thereafter. ;)

hahaha, i defenitly need some patience with gunplas. I tried to keep up with the 00 release, but it wont seem possible they are releasing kits like mad. i got into MGs again, so probably stop getting 00 HGs after the trinity. Unless they came up with new gundams with amazing gundams in the second season (i am pretty sure they will).

I just beat SRW W on DS, so after playing that game for few days straight I ended up ordering Astray Red and Blue Fram, unfotunatly they didn't have the crazy shoulder design in the game for red frame

http://nds.tgbus.com/UploadFiles/jizhanw/0100.gif.jpg

PS: someone here need to study Bandai's marketing stratergy.

jackyng222 2008-03-21 20:14

is it true an MG force impulse will be release in may? Does a MG impulse sign for a MG sword sillouette to come along?

Man, an MG Infinite Justice in RED would be nice.

One question, can the armor plate for the 1/100 akatsuki be attached to the MG hands without mods? MG hands meaning those that the MG strike has (i would think so since both have the strike frame.

Also, are the akatsuki packs interchangable with the other MG packs?

Yes, but if they release it, it will be PINK :D (painted my no grade 1/100 one in metallic red. Looks good lol)

Astrana, yeah, the MSV of SEED Astray are freaking awesome, sadly, they have not been exploited by Bandai. Dunno why, Blue and Red frame have some great designs (the Mars Jacket armor of the Red Frame is sooo cool).

Astrana 2008-03-21 20:54

For MG Impluse.
i found a site with a no grade mod, it looks pretty good. I wish it came with sword set, so i will paint it red (looks better imo)

http://f7.aaa.livedoor.jp/~mesarion/gallery/imp/imp.htm

Beamknight, I know, SeedXAstray is my favorite mecha in the game I maxxed out all the gundams. Red Frame's special attack is really awesome. I am thought about recoloring the blue frame I got, but just dunno which color schime to use. I will prime it first then decide :P

Hmmm. I dunno. Look how long it took MG Impulse to come out, and Destiny's been over for how long now? :upset:

Yes, but other factors come into play here. IIRC, 00 kits have been outselling CE kits like crazy, so they might take that into consideration.

Bandai probably wasnt in a rush in releasing the Impulse since there was already the SF and the Destiny.

The only thing I heard about 00 kits sales is that it's been selling at 120% of Destiny's. But that's not saying much, since Destiny's Gunpla sales sucked in the first place.

Unless there's another source I don't know about of course.

LightningZERO 2008-03-21 23:07

The Unicorn got itself a MG even though the novel started not too long ago...

Why would they rush anything on a line that's selling worse than used underwear? I'm surprised they've even planned a release on some things.

What's the source you heard for this number.

00's Gunpla line does seem to be doing well since there are antagonist mecha coming out in 1/100 format indicating the the smaller HG kits have met expectations.

I think the figure was reported by Gunota from staff interviews a while back.

And it's kinda telling that 00's Grunts are getting lots of High Grade model kit love, for units that appear only a few times in 00's run.

DarkWarrior 2008-03-21 23:49

Yep, it's Gunota. "Also mentioned in the bottom lefthand corner, the 00 HG plamodel series is selling 120% compared to SEED Destiny's."

Keep in mind, this news is quite old (12/19/07) and only applies to HG kits apparently. It's still the only solid number I heard about 00 Gunpla sales though.

CE Gunpla (at least the SEED stuff, not Destiny) sold quite well I believe. I remember reading on Gunota that it sold somewhere around 10,000,000 units years ago. That's probably why we're still getting a slow but steady stream of CE kits.

Used underwear in Japan are really expensive and popular among the older business man

I just think Bandai's gonna milk the HG 1/100 Exia for a while longer before they release anything about a MG Exia. That's how the big bucks roll in.
If they make us wait however, they'd better release the Thrones in 1/100 scale while they make us suffer :eyebrow:

panzerfan 2008-03-22 04:57

Got a question. It seems that alot of the MG Gundam kits don't have additional decals with them. Is there anything that will indicate the decal being present? When I was looking around, I was only sure that Ver.Ka MG are sure to have those...

dunno, all the MG i've got so far has plenty decals

btw some pics for future models

EXEs 2008-03-22 10:35

Wow, Bandai's really milking us out with 00 models, eh? Do we really need 4(?) different versions of the Tieren ffs?

Sciel 2008-03-22 10:40

That tieren looks horrid.
Also ,
I am actually quite surprised that they haven't released GN-X model kits yet . When the GN-X's first appeared i was half expecting them to give "custom units" to each ace .
Was half expecting ....
GN-X Soma Custom
GN-X Sergei Custom
GN-X Patrick Custom
GN-X Darryl Custom.

:) .

I guess they didn't have the time to customized their suit, as their first priority was to eliminate CB once and for all. It would've been nice to see the suits customized, though.

But yeah, anyway, 1/100 Flag's looking great. Is it gonna be as detailed as the preliminary sketches show it'll be when it comes out? I highly doubt it, though. I personally like its face design; its rather detailed.

Relax. You can make a Super Sentai/Power Rangers with all those different colours and variations of them.

blue tieren
pink tieren
green tieren

Darth Atma 2008-03-22 11:55

MG Impulse???
The vicious cycle begins...
Force --> Sword --> Blast
The Impulse utilized VPS, when equipped with different sillhouette pack, the color changed...
The vicious cycle has begun...

And I wonder there arn't any news of Athrun's suits having MG treatment...
Aegis & Justice please!

silencer.001 2008-03-22 11:58

Well, all i am hoping for, is that at they don't start doing ala strike, but i like the strike, but there are too many of them

impulse i don't mind, cos then each suit will be sorta unique, with different armour, etc

but hey, 1/100 Flag looks cool, need to start getting the 00 1/100's, been focussing on the MGs quite a bit

Astrana 2008-03-22 12:19

I looked into MG release

Gundam 0083

GP-01 - July 97
GP-01 - FB December 97
GP-02 - June 98
GP-03 - June 01 ( 3 years from GP-02)

G Gundam
Burning Gundam - November 01
Master Asia - March 02
Shinning Gundam - May 02
Gundam Spiegel - August 02
Burning Gundam Hyper Mode - April 03
Master Gundam Hyper Mode - April 03

Seed, SeedXDestiny....
Aile Strike - October 03
Freedom - July 04 (over 1 year from Aile Strike)
Strike Rogue - September 04
Strike IWSP - october 06
Strike Freedom - December 06
Strike Noir - March 07
Destiny - October 07
Impulse - May 08??

Other series are scatter around, Zeta kept coming out different version every year, same with Zaku... few versions of Wing... They have released bunch Seed MGs, I guess people are tired of Zakus and Zetas...Bandai is still milking money from 1/100 and HG kits, we might see bandai announcing MG 00 in fall or winter (winter wonder fest maybe) then we can see MGs coming out every few month. Or even MG Heavy arms, deathsycth....

beamknight87 2008-03-22 13:15

I just watched the RAW of episode 24.

I DEMAND my 1/100 Patrick GN-X >_<!!!!!

Mister Mister 2008-03-22 14:38

so I got my RX 178 yesterday. so far, I've completed the torso, head, backpack, both arms and a leg. unfortunately, the knife and nippers I bought aren't all that great, and I've been making a bit of a mess of it. also, the cloth "hose" material is an utter, utter bitch to work with if you screw it up.

Version 2.0, I presume? Titans or AEUG? I have the Titans, still in the box and awaiting my decision whether to build it or trade it for an Astraea conversion parts...

yeah, 2.0 Titans version. it's only my second kit so I'm probably to blame for any screwups. now that I have the MS itself assembled (no weapons put together yet, I dokits for an hour at a time rather than in a marathon) I'd say it's pretty good. My only suggestions are to have a bit of glue for the cloth cables, and a small amount of plastic glue to cement in any loose parts. just a warning though, DO NOT seal any seams between leg plates, as they're intended to slide past eachother, and gluing the seams shut will make it impossible for the thing to pose below the waist.

edit: also, make sure you have sharp scissors to cut the 'hose' to the lengths you need. there's some margin for error, but if you don't cut it clean then it'll unravel a bit and ruin the hose.

Astrana 2008-03-22 16:40

i build Titan 2.0 a year ago, only problem i encountered was the screw it was bit difficult, other than that everything else is fine, the cloth hose u just have to cut the length suggested on the manual. over all it's a really god kit
