can we be sure that it will be at least 70% transformable, not 70% parts-formable like the original HG ZZ? :heh:

Given the scale I would say the latter lol

But a MG @_@...........I would buy without hesitation

Wow, they're not kidding.

What do they mean by 1/144, anyway? Is it going to be a remold of the HGUC ZZ? Or is it literally 1/144 as in the show, meaning it's going to be MG/PG sized?

The Trion 3 isn't actually any bigger than any other Mobile Suit as mentioned in the episode, so it's 1/144 scale aka the same size as other gunpla. So the Trion 3 is likely to be based off the mold of the HGUC ZZ Gundam.

Really? I was under the impression that it was MA sized. Thanks for the clarification. Regardless, it's gonna be one heck of a kit. :heh:

Be careful with what you wish for. Next thing we know, Bandai will do a quick cashgrab by re-using the old MG ZZ mold for Trion without any significant improvements. That will certainly suck balls if happen coz the kit will be a brick with cheap shoulder connections and sad articulation and can only stand on the shelf doing almost-zero poses :uhoh:

But given the way it transforms though I dont think its possible to reuse the old MG ZZ,

They probably have to design it from the ground up

That fan book gets a 10/10 from me for sheer awesomeness and WTFness.

The funny thing is, it looks like its 1/60 size due to the camera angles.

Never got that impression from the camera angles. The one time we see the Tryon 3 in comparison to another gunpla was when it performed its final attack against the Calamity, and we see that it isn't actually any bigger.

It's nice to finally see the 1/144 form of winning. Not too fond of it keeping the large V-fin though

Actually, the transformation is not that different. Umi Tryon is the Core Top (without Neo Core Fighter & Double Beam Rifle), Sora Tryon is the Core Base (without Neo Core Fighter and the big missile/booster backpack). The only brand new thing is that lion/tiger-part that pretty much covers the chest & back. If Bandai is a truly greedy cheap-bastard, I can see them reusing the old mold with slight animal-modifs and the Riku Tryon being the only genuine new part. But like you said, I hope it doesn't happen and they will make a completely new mold. MG ZZ 2.0 is long overdue anyway.

Patriot's Blade 2015-01-31 12:46

scrolling through some BB Senshi, i just realized that there was an SD Gundam capable turning into Real mode that predates the Star Winning, still not sure its proportions is sleek looking as Fumina's own version considering the engineering during that time, it looks bulky to me.

EDIT: i have a complaint, is it common that the HGUC GP02's hands are prone to have the thumb peg easily breaking off when you tried to have it hold the shield, with or without the Atomic bazooka stored in it? well it also happened to mine as i displayed it holding the shield, not even a single person ever touched that thing that is inside a display case & two months later the shield fell off on its own & the damage cannot be undone, while in a static pose to boot while the bottom part of the shield is supported by one of its legs,

so any recommendations on how to replace the hands? with the correct wrist ball joint size to fit perfectly? like the HD Builders parts federation MS hands? also i think the combination of the damn heavy shield & poorly designed handle is to blame for this........

Well I have a problem, my Tamiya file managed to develop a good bit of rust on it. I'm going to have to try and use WD-40 to clean it and see if it's salvageable T_T

And just after I ordered a Stark Jegan to work on as my birthday project too T_T

And the stores are all out of stock, there's nowhere for my to buy files T_T

And anyone curious why we have not seen any pictures of the Star Winning's Real Mode in gunpla form? Im actually hoping it gets a separate HG kit to look and pose better

wavehawk 2015-02-12 02:03

I don't think Star Winning Real mode will have nearly as much posability or detail as a true HG, but we'll have to see.

Well the joints on star winning's funnels show that it could have some decent range of motion almost on par with HG's. Only limitations I see are shoulder range and hip range.

Skye629 2015-02-12 21:52

Hey guys I want some opinions quickly

To make a long story short, I lost my side-cutters and am on the market for a new one

Do you guys have any recommendations? Im willing to pay up to $25 if they last me a damn long while and cut nicely

The one I have been using/lost is a ModelMasters (was that it?) brand, I used it for several years and it worked well, though after about 3 years it lost its flush cut due to one side somehow becoming slightly higher than the other (I suspect due to use over time, me and my bro shared it while building, so it went through about 6-8 gunpla a year). Despite this it still cut well so we used it for removing parts from the trees before using other means to remove the remaining nubs. So overall it has seen about 6 years of use before I lost/misplaced it somewhere T-T (Totally worth the $15 spent for it)

*raises hand* It was me who posted that complain, and no, I'm not happy with this as it only justified my complain that Bandai could've & should've been able to do it from the start without resorting to exclusive item for such little gimmicks. This only makes me even more pissed off. Such a dick move. What's next? Making an exclusive out of RE100 Nightingale's skirt-arms that they "forgot" to include?

- Ack ---DON'T KEEP GIVING THEM IDEAS!!! I'm still cheesed off that we're yet to see a release of Pale Rider that's NOT an exclusive. And that's a built-from-the-ground-up-new kit!

On the Hope Spot section, we can only hope they throw in the Screw Whip and Scissor Anchor as standard whent he HGBF Crozzbone Full Cloth comes out.

There's no damn way the Star Winning Gundam can transform into- Okay, I take it back!

Of course, I'm worried that the kit will be flimsy when transforming from SD to Real Mode. And speaking of Real Mode, Bandai will have a challenge when making Star Winning Gundam in Master Grade quality!

So, uh, Freedom guy here! Order finally got to Brazil a bunch of days ago, although now it's stuck in customs cause... customs. But what I wanted to ask is, well, what kind of cutters would I need? I tried shopping for some here, but I'm having a tough time finding something that suits my needs, lol.

Or well, basically, it seems like most shops around here only have those diagonal pliers that aren't exactly for plastic. Stuff like this.

Would that work, or do I risk damaging stuff and should just look further? If I have to spend some extra time with an x-acto knife to remove the nubs I guess that's fine, I just wanted to avoid ordering online yet again, now for the cutters, because god knows our postal service is awful. Should've bought them alongside the Gundam, but oh well...

AHT 2015-02-14 19:36

My thoughts of Star winning if sells very well. This will be Bandai's new direction of SD toyline.

Don't worry Blue, it might not be ideal, but you'll be fine using that. I used that myself in the past. Just use the pliers to cut the trees close to the parts without twisting, turning or wiggling it while cutting and you'll be fine. Then you can clean the nubs with either a very sharp and thin cutter or file (do it carefully, no rushing).

For beginners, cutting the nubs is usually enough before you assemble the parts, but if you like to try sanding the said nubs, you can first try to use the sandpaper in the unused trees. If the result is good and smooth, you may continue sanding the nubs on the part, but if the result is less than desirable, you better off not sanding it as Real Grade is already good without sanding anyway (as long as you clean the nubs properly with cutter after cutting it with the plier). Also, like many who have experience with RGs, I suggest you be careful with the very tiny parts. Make yourself comfortable when you cut the parts from the trees. Make sure no tiny parts will fly after you cut it loose from the trees. Make sure your workplace is ideal to find any parts that will fall or fly off (don't work in messy table or room with stuffs laying around everywhere that once a tiny part falls off, it will be like finding a needle in a haystack).

Im kicking myself in the fucking balls for not pre-ording the Star Winning and Lightning Back System Mk.II on Amazon

They were $15 and $12 with Prime for preorder, and now they are approx $30 and $15 without prime (the price I listed includes the shipping cost)

Never again will I make this mistake as long as I have Prime

Capt. Mask & Barara sure make really good dance partners, well you always see them dancing in the eye catches & ED, they integrated them in their MS moves, it puts Aida's ballet lessons to shame with her G-Arcane :heh:

Its confirmed by nature of how simple it is to make and milk cash from us lol

Those r actually the original MG Exia parts, which I was quite pleasantly surprised to see included and not cut out

The Amazing Exia is mostly a color swap with a different V-Fin, toes, and shield

After helping my brother put together so many Exia kits, one look made that obvious. :heh:

From the preview images I knew we'd get some leftover parts, including the normal Exia's weapon set, but I didn't think Bandai would be generous enough to leave in the connector piece so we can give the Dark Matter a variant of the GN Sword. Pleasant indeed.

Since you seem to be familiar with the MG Exia kits, would you happen to know whether Bandai included any new parts for the ankles in the Dark Matter?
