Hasegawa Takuto - Your basic ordinary teenage boy and also the main character of the story who is also a rookie mage in the Academy. He is also for some reason also the reincarnation of a so called "World's Savior" or "World's Destruction" as well as being surrounded by girls, especially the main female characters.

Tanarot - A mysterious red head girl that is neither a demon nor a god. But she has a power of around 5000, that is enough power to destroy 1 country in 1 day, but she doesn't know it. She is the being that was accidentally summoned by Takuto. Although she looks around 15 or 16, but her mind is like a 2 year old kid, so she's still learning.

She has been given a weapon in Vol.3 which is a pair of boxing gloves called "One Hit Kill". Because her power is very dangerous, she is taken under the care of Takuto, which she loves so much. She became Takuto's 1st roommate as well as Suzuho's rival.

Hasegawa Suzuho - Takuto's cousin. A very timid and shy girl. She also has a tragic past about mages that made her unable to speak. So she usually communicate by writing on a sketchbook that she holds everytime. Although she's shy, whenever someones get TOO CLOSE to Takuto, she'll explode. In other words, she also likes Takuto.

Because she fear that Tanarot might do something unnecessary, she moves in with Takuto and became Takuto's 2nd roommate. She also has an alter ego whenever she took out her ribbon, which is called 'The Blue-haired Vampire".

Hasegawa Suzuho" Blue-Hair form" - She is the exact opposite of the original Suzuho. She is called the " Blue-Haired Vampire" cause she can absorbed any magic around her which makes any magic useless. Because of this she became the nemy to all mages and summon creatures. Luckilly the Academy solve this confict, so far.

She is a very tomboyish girl and constantly fights with Tanarot. Although both Suzuho have opposit traits, but they have one thing in common, they both like Takuto. It is unclear whether both of them share the same memories.

Falce - First appeared in Vol.3 of the novel. She is known as "The Variable Wand", cause she is a wand with a mind and conscious of his own. Her creator died by poison, the reason is still unknown. Because of this she doesn't know the reason for her existence.

Takuto gave her a reason, which is to be yourself. Because of that Falce fell for Takuto and also became her master. She's quite nice and polite. Although she likes Takuto, but she is not that competitive like Suzuho or Tanarot. She also become Takuto's 3rd roommate.

Sakuma Ataro - Takuto's sempai. Also an otaku and a strong mage. He constantly talk about moe and other stuff. Usually creates costume for Tanarot and Suzuho and has a habit for torturing people by helping him in his doujins( And I MEAN torturing, try working 72 hours a day without rest).

Eneus - Ataro's tsukaima. Usually dressed in a maid costume with a tail and dog ears ( Guess who's idea). You can say that Eneus is Ataro's discipline advisor since most of the time she remind him to be serious. She is a very skillful fighter. She has a spear which also has a broom at one end. Quite convenient don't you think.

Synclavia - A demon whose original mission is to kill Takuto. Her attacks usually consists of sound. First appeared in Vol.2. After her failure, she has been sealed by Ataro and became Ataro's slave. Usually dressed in SM costume.

Miyabi - A god who is Synclavia's partner. Also first appeared in Vol.2 and also has the same motif and (sadly) consequence as her partner. But a good thing is she usually get to take a task of joining Takuto's "cleaning duty". Because of this, she came to understand Takuto a lot more. Usually dressed in Miko outfit and has a katana as her weapon.

Professor Sagami - Takuto's teacher as well as a robot( I think). Usually helps Takuto in his trouble.

Trincia - A cute girl that usually appears in the monitor of laptops. Too bad she doesn't appear much in the novels. She does look cute you know.

There are some characters that I didn't explain, mainly because I have not enough info.

We get to take a look at Suzuho's tragic past which led her to the way she is now. We also know from this vol. that there are existence of Psychics which are different than mages.

We also learn the Academy's true enemy, which is known as the SSS(Secret Sorcerer Society) which thinks that mages should rule all.

We get to see a bit of action from Takuto and company, he's quite the good strategist by the way.

Between this and Kemeko, I believe the quotient of "weird and wacky" left by Kyouran's departure will be filled.

The OP is suitably bizarre and sort of dancey. Having heard it enough times in the promos over the past few weeks, I've grown accustomed to it.

Beginning in media res was an interesting choice, showing the summoning of Tanarot followed by a quick rewind to where it all began. As much as I advocate viewing shows as themselves, I suppose one could see this as being a gender-reversed Zero no Tsukaima, sort of.

Suzuho immediately gives off Megumi (SA) vibes, though hopefully she's easier to typeset to whoever takes this on. Suzuho also has some elements of Inner Moka going for her. Though with less kicks and "know your place" and more sword swinging.

There's some weird claymation censoring going on (the scene of Suzuho walking in differs from the promos) and in the eyecatch. Claymation in anime has a history of freaking me out. Manabi Straight, I'm looking your direction.

No proper ED this week (just playing over the last scenes), but it sounds nice.

A nice cast here, with Ami Koshimizu as a boy again, and Mariya Ise as Tanarot. Good to see her getting a lot of major roles lately. A fun first episode.
