So. Who is the new girl? Did they uncover her real identity?

Not yet.

wonders how people would react if that really wasn't cu chulain and they just simply did the same thing they did with extra saber and copy and pasted the design to a completely different person(saber extra still pisses me off because of that)

corefire 2014-12-28 23:24

well cu chulain is a poor choice for caster thare are better choices for the role like soloman or merlin.

GDB 2014-12-28 23:29

He's a perfectly fine choice for a Caster. He's incredibly proficient in Rune Magic. In fact, he's so proficient that he uses it even as a Lancer. They don't showcase it often, but his magic capabilities are probably quite a bit better than Gilles de Rais.

Some people on BL believes Shielder to be Galahad. No confirmation though.

Gilles de Rais was actually one of the weaker magi to be named Caster in the various incarnations of the Holy Grail War. He just had a massively OP Noble Phantasm that covered his shortcomings.

I have my doubts about that. TM have been pretty good about keeping the various versions of the Heroic Spirits consistent in their "final" works (Fate/Prototype being the exception, as it is based on "prototypical" plans for F/SN), and Galahad already appears--as a man--in Fate/Extra. Jeanne d'Arc (Fate/Apocrypha) has a particular character design. "King Arthur" was in fact Arturia Pendragon, and has a particular (if strangely common) character design. Emiya is the future version of (one or another) Shirou Emiya, and has a particular character design. All three of these are present in these very promos, and appear just as we'd expect. A Heroic Spirit's chosen Servant class is fluid, as it is already stated that some Heroic Spirits can be summoned as more than one class, but the natures of the Spirits themselves have been much less mutable.

Not saying it can't happen, certainly, as fond as TM are of alternate universes, but I'd look to Shielder being one of the other Knights of the Round Table before suggesting Galahad. And frankly I don't even know if I'd even have her be related to Arturia at all. Given the clear differences in their designs, they may not even be from the same culture or time period...

Kimiko Khan 2014-12-29 02:24

being that she has giant shield makes it kinda difficult to name her. not exactly many notable shields in mythology/history and even fewer with an actual name attached to them. my best guess is either a christian knight of sorts or a late period roman. frankly her armor makes it even harder to guess

Eh? Are you're thinking of this guy? 'cos that's Gawaine. I couldn't find anything about Galahad appearing.

By "already appears as a man in Fate/Extra", do you mean Leonardo B Harwey's Saber? Cause that guy is Gawain.

So far, the Knight of the Round that already appeared in TM are: Arturia, Bedivere, Lancelot and Gawain.

Edit: Aaaand sniped by Shyni.

quigonkenny 2014-12-29 12:57

Oops. My bad. Got the two mixed up. I'm like that with names that begin with the same letter.

Guess she could be Galahad after all, but I really hope she isn't. If half the "guys" at the Round Table were secretly cute blonde teenage girls (Arturia, Mordred, etc.), then the twist starts to lose some of its impact.

GDB 2014-12-29 13:37

Agreed. Keep it to just Saber and Mordred. Nero is a different case, since she's supposed to be like Iskander where history just flubbed the details rather than her cross dressing.

Tenzen12 2014-12-29 14:33

Plot twist: it's crossdressing Achilles (that's canon):D

Achilles has alredy been used in fate/Apocrypha as red Rider.

Tenzen12 2014-12-29 17:15

I definitely see resemblance here. From now It's my headcanon, New girl = rider of red, trap edition:D
