Red Dead Redemption
 

Holy cow, check this video out. Day one purchase for me. This game is an open world/sand box game, ala Grand Theft Auto, but in the Wild West. It looks great and the game play should be great, too. (Watch bigger version, click youtube logo on video to do so)



Releases late April 2010 for PS3 and X360.

The first in the series was so-so, but this sequel looks downright amazing.

I've always been a fan of Rockstar's RAGE engine and it definitely looks like it's getting put to amazing use here.

Damn that looks good (reminded me a little more of Oblivion/Fallout 3 than GTA, but that is just nitpicking).

Really, speaking of Oblivion, this game has some things that I'd love to see in a game like Oblvion (western RPG that is fantasy). Things such as hunting wild game for food and setting up camp in the wild to regenerate yourself. I'm stoked for this game. It should be great. The treasure hunting should be fun, too. Like Oblivion, when you defeat a foe, you can check their person for goods and items, too.

Game comes out in about a week? Who is getting it? I will get it eventually. I won't have the money for it this month, but I intend to get it in June or July.

Same here. When it just comes out, it's brand new - so that means it'll work just fine. Double win for me. Though my xbox still needs fixed. :/

The game is going to be so epic. I'm looking forward to the exploring and the fights the most on this one. Though I'm still expecting a story.

I hope a duster or a blazer is available as equipment. (I've only watched the promotional videos, not the actual gameplay ones.)

Im getting Lost Planet 2 while i wait for this. since LP2 comes out the 11th.

Just a heads up, but Amazon is giving away $20 gift card if you preorder Red Dead Redemption right now. So if you intend on getting both, you might wanna do the preorder first and use the card on LP2. =)

im renting them, so both will only cost 20 bucks all together. I'll beat them in week or a half more then get two more games for that 20 bucks still.

20 bucks = rent two games for aslong as you want for a monthly fee of 20 bucks. the only downside is that i get them 2 days after they tell me their coming.

Well, apparently you can change your outfits in the game.

I'm not sure if you can just step into some store and purchase outfits, but one of the previews mentioned that you can unlock them. You can get different outfits such as a poncho or trench coats.

man this game is soooo gonna be in the Video game awards.

Been waiting on this game for so long. Definitely one of my most anticipated games in recent memory. From what I've seen/read in previews it really captures the West well (whihc is great for a huge Western fan like me):D.

Damn well better, I just got done seeing the videos on youtube, and it's definitely going to be worth the money.

Some guys demonstrate a Dastardly Achievement involving a damsel+rope+traintracks.
