Sounds like Oda combined Karate with Taichi since Taichi supposedly is a martial art based on controlling the Ki between you and your opponent.

Yeah, that's the only real flaw of his karate, it seems..... it's still at its most effective from the ocean. And considering that Aokiji had frozen the ocean at that point in the war, it's understandable that he'd have trouble against Akainu (whose red-hot magma body could probably protect him from Jinbei's land-based attacks).....

Off topic, but supposedly(according to Greg from One Piece Podcast), Ace's bounty before he died was 550,000,000 berries. This was information that Greg was privy to because he is going to be a contestant on some One Piece trivia show where fans go up against former editors. He was going to wait until after the show aired, but the info was leaked on 2ch, so now we know. Thoughts?
