White Album 2's writer Maruto Fumiaki's light novel series Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata has anime on the works!

All I can say is that the color illustrations are so vibrant and it's so unfair that Megumi Kato gets that kind of character design. :love: That said, it's so early for an adaptation to get an anime announcement. It's situations like this when delays after such an early bird announcement often kill the hype.

It's strange to see noitaminA doing LN adaptations targeting the otaku crowd. As long they don't put much unnecessary fanservice and instead follows like a normal slice of life story with added focus on relationships (the kind I'm really addicted to these days), then good for me!
And yes, the illustrations by Kurehito Misaki are quite gorgeous, I think Madhouse and AIC are the only studios that will be capable of replicating the designs even if it deviates a little (then the anime designs based on complicated art drafts are often simplified because budget).

Love the mangas, so very much looking forward to this.
Nothing thrilling or new about the "otaku" setting but it isn't bad.

Theres hope yet I'll see Shinozaku-san get a anime one day.

This is by Maruto, the writer of White Album 2? I would think that means the romance will be pretty well-written, though I wonder if the drama will be on the same level :heh:.

He can certainly write a love triangle, though I'm interested to see how he'd handle a proper harem, if Saenai actually has one that is. I can't imagine it would be a very conventional harem under his pen at the very least :uhoh:.

The LN novel art is quite nice, so hopefully that translates well into the anime :).

Damn, Maruto wrote the original LN? Titular character isn't the childhood friend, but hey, I'll take what I can get since I know at least Maruto will give her justice.

But next year? Oh God, the wait so long. I guess I'll read whatever manga it's based on for now; luckily the side story with the childhood friend main heroine is currently the one with the most translations. XD

AFAIK the titular character hasn't been voiced yet; she didn't appear in that little skit.

But yeah, this is a bit weird for noitamina timeslot in that Saenai (I dunno why the abbreviation is SaeKano when it's easily confused with SaiKano, at least for me) is a bit too 'normal' as far as otaku anime goes.

The story is:
Main character

+2. popular novel writer
+3. elder cousin, lead signer of a band
joining to create a galgame, and the reason why the main character do this is to turn:
4. non-outstanding classmate
into heroine.

Hmm... I gave the first ch of the manga a try and... well, to be honest it did not grab my attention.

Perhaps I just need to come back to it again after a little while to get a fresher perspective of it? ^^

This is a light novel by the author of WA2, and just like WA2 he'll be adapting it himself for the anime.

So screw it if the premise doesn't really intrigue me,WA2's premise didn't intrigue me either and I ended up loving it so I'm looking forward to it.
