I actually think it might be better for them to wait on Haruhi. Ride the crest of anticipation created by Kanon 06, and let the Haruhi novels get further and further along in the meantime.

Great news! Call it a hunch, but... I have the feeling that this will be KyoAni's best effort ever. The source material is very strong - and I'm looking forward to seeing it animated.

Nagisa is a particularly compelling character, and I'd really love to see KyoAni try the single path approach on this one.

Sweet, my worst fears have been put to rest :heh: I'll probably simply ignore the movie completely and go into the series fresh whenever it starts. Cannot wait for this :D

Cool! I was already happy for seeing a movie now a entire series!? Sugoi da zo! And with Nakahara Mai, Kuwashima Houko and Noto Mamiko as seiyuu of one of the characters make me even happier! Go KyoAni!

Assuming the show will be released in Spring 2008...

We could be in for quite a battle between D.C. II (ZEXCS?) and Clannad (Kyoto Animation). As for me... why fight, when you can enjoy both?

Oh and Fukiri - care to enlighten me as to who my beloved Noto-chan is playing? I can't get enough of her voice, need to know which character she plays so I can start salivating... uh, appreciating her ;)

This will be a hit, a big one.

Noto Mamiko is playing Ichinose Kotomi, the one holding the violin in the beginning of trailer.
To be honest, I didn't think her voice matched the character at first. But once I became familiar with Kotomi's character, I think her voice was a perfect fit.
On the other hand, the voice of every other character was a perfect fit right from the beginning.

Pure speculation on my part when it comes to D.C. II.

I see Tomoyo is using their patented Lambda Driver effects. :heh: I am aware of some of CLANNAD's story elements, but for the most part, I am going to be a newbie to this. :D I am looking forward to be surprised in this series.

Hmm... Summer of AIR, winter of Kanon and now the stage is set to the spring of Clannad.
