First season was a very underrated show that was hurt by a poor first episode, managed to make it's way to being my fav of the season. Was hoping for a second season and thought it was a good chance since SHAFT are very sequel friendly, very happy to see that it's confirmed so soon.

This has made my day, easily. As i was saying in the first season thread, easily one of Shinbo's best works, and i'm glad to hear that it will continue in the near future.

hell yeah! 'This has made my day' sums up my sentiments exactly. I thought the first season was wonderful, something fairly different from what a lot of what I've seen. This is going very high up on shows I'm looking forward to!

One of the most UNDERRATED anime shows on 2009.
Man Iam sure glad it has a second season. I can't wait to see more of Arashi, Iam just afraid the 1st season intro grew on me too much that the 2nd one might not be as good.

Guardian Enzo 2009-06-29 10:07

Yeah, this is a legit "Hell, yeah!" for me, too. I really grew to love NnA - maybe the best spring '09 show, along with Cross Game. In the old days it would have just been a 26 episode series to begin with, but that just doesn't happen to this sort of material any more.

The second season now has a start date. October 4th, (re-)inheriting its time slot from Kanamemo.

Good to hear. What a wonderful year for Akiyuki Shinbo and Shaft fans. :)

I think it's a little too early now to see new NNA 2nd season images so...

Spoiler for Time:

You should ask that in the first season thread, though i'll just give you the series summary.

Quote:

Thirteen-year-old Yasaka is a boy staying at his grandfather's house during his summer vacation. One day he entered a store and met Arashi, a beautiful sixteen-year old girl working there. After trying to protect her from a man who claims to have been hired by her family to take her back by force, Yasaka ran away with her and now she stays at his grandpa's place with him. It didn't take much time for Yasaka to figure out that his new friend is far from an ordinary girl, as she possesses mysterious powers. The plot thickens when he finds a sixty-year-old picture of Arashi and another girl named Kaja, and to the surprise of all Kaja suddenly appears, and just like Arashi, her appearance hasn't changed at all since then.

Thanks alot, I'll check it out :P

The opening of season 2 has been confirmed to be "Oyasumi Paradox" by Etsuko Yakushimaru. Whether there will be 13 versions of it, I do not know.

Edit: It appears that the 1:33 video on her website is, in fact, the song that will be Arashi's OP. So if you want to hear the theme song now, just follow the link.

Guardian Enzo 2009-08-31 13:57

That's OK, but it's competing against what was the best OP of 2009, so it does come up short there.

kenjiharima 2009-09-02 09:41

I wanna hold the excitement and not spoil the song so I'll be waiting for the intro if it's gonna match up for NNA season1 intro.

NNA s1 intro was outstanding. Great reference, music, timing, everything! Hope NNA s2 would also provide us some great OP and END songs.

The official website was updated

Midonin 2009-09-18 08:16

And the ending theme of the second season is "Otome no Junjo", sung by the main female cast. (Ryoko Shiraishi, Kaori Nazuka, Ai Nonaka and Yui Horie)

Midonin 2009-09-30 13:55

It's been confirmed that Akanaichuu will be simulcast. Which I was sort of expecting, given that the first season was as well.

Midonin 2009-10-04 13:25

It's as though the show never really left. Lots of little funny moments interspersed throughout, and an interesting way to recap the premise. The OP is a nice techno-y tune, but the animation is the weirdest I've seen since Maria Holic. Then again, if the opening wasn't strange, it wouldn't be Shaft.

No ending this week.

Shiroth 2009-10-04 13:55

That was a great first episode, and a good start to the second season. Plenty of classic laughs, and some nice fanservice as we have good old fun at the beach.

Jun service was the best, and it's about time
Spoiler for Episode 01:

OP is strange, and i get the feeling it's not finished.
