The Other World Doesn't Stand A Chance Against The Power Of Instant Death

Sokushi Cheat ga Saikyou Sugite, Isekai no Yatsura ga Marude Aite ni Naranai n desu ga 即死チートが最強すぎて、異世界のやつらがまるで相手にならないんですが。 LN Licensed by J-Novel Club Synopsis: Growth cheats? Infinite magic power? The ability to utilize all archetypes? What's the point if instant death ends everything with a single attack? High school senior Yogiri Takatou was on a school field trip when he woke up to a dragon assaulting his sightseeing bus, with the only ones still on the bus being him and his female classmate, the panicking Tomochika Dannoura. Apparently the rest of his classmates had been given special powers by Sion, a woman who introduced herself as Sage, and escaped from the dragon, leaving those that hadn't received any special powers behind as dragon bait. And so Yogiri was thrown into a parallel universe full of danger, with no idea of what just happened. Likewise, Sion had no way of knowing just what kind of being she had summoned to her world. The Usual questions No snusnu, no harem, minimal romance. MC is not OP physically, he just has this one skill that can beat anyone just by thinking about it. It's implied that if anyone could attack him faster than he could think then he would be helpless, but no one has managed that in the 40-something chapters I have read. |
Of course the only danger in the world is intentional attack, right guys? |
His powers have been shown to work against inanimate objects like traps and doors and machinery. "If it moves, I can kill it." But yes, he would be helpless against, e.g. an earthquake, or a flood that occurs when he's asleep.
|
^Rather than inanimate or animate object, it's more like to stop any system
Thus it covers living things and anything with mechanism It doesn't stop stray arrow or rocks flung from a volcano for example Btw, the 1-star reviews in amazon are so funny :heh: |

^No, magic is a system, so he can nullify it
Just like that Touma from Index |
Rather than killing things, MC's power is closer to outright erasing things. The key point is just on whether he himself thinks his power will work on the target or not.
|
Having read a bit further, I think the series suffers from One Punch Man syndrome. I.e. the main character is too powerful to be interesting so the author introduces all kinds of sub-plots and sub-characters and spends a lot of time on them instead. Except it's all futile because you know the main character will show up and win the day in the end anyway.
|
^ I think that just explained why I was finding this so boring and unable to keep reading it for very long...
|
With super OP MC, authors will almost always be forced to write into a corner
Either : 1. The story will be so boring coz no tension 2. Power inflation to no end so enemies can match the MC ala Dragon Ball For this novel, the MC himself is a boring dude so it tears up the injuries even more |

At one point, the MC temporarily unsealed his "Phase2" powers and became able to outright kill concepts like gravity or momentum, erasing matter is a simple...matter. In addition, he can extend his power to chain through people, ie. he can kill any additional person that the original target is seeing, on top of being able to kill any target across any distance even without the danger detector, even across dimensions. |

I guess this can be a mixture of one punch man, death note, and Touma altogether. Concept of one hit kill, who is the target and simply poof.

Previously tateyuu and blessing god, now this wn.
I dunno what is the fun to use different system to beat the current system just to make mc look OP. IMHO it make the whole thing become boring. Especially this one since the insta-death skill doesn't need lv or mp. |
What interest me is that MC is calm as wind and knows how to use his brain in the early manga chapter .
Edit: So I've read the WN till its latest chapter and it disappoint me much.MC are basically thrown into an "All u can think of genre" world ,just like Wild wild west . Author is either bad at depicting character or the translator messed up the translation . The translation sound like it came from MTL . |
The early manga is interesting and made me check out the WN. The WN didn't live up to expectations. The author has an interesting premise but doesn't know what to do with it.
|
LOL, Tachibana and his doomed harem make their appearance in the manga. I don't know why I pictured him as blond, even though I know he's Japanese. Maybe just to contrast with Takatou.
|
^ His entire character makes him scream blonde. :p
|
The MC from Maou Gakuin, Arnos Voldegordo has magic that can stop time and he can still move and take action like attacking people in that state while time is stopped, so I wonder if this guy's instant death ability would still work even if time is stopped.
