The Gold Gundam Marker is dissapointing, sure it looks shiny if it's newly applied but it will become duller when it ages just around few weeks or lesser.

I shake it for a good 5 minutes straight before using and it still comes out like that

Weird. Mine just works just fine and the luster didn't fade at all.

What pen? Im always in the market for new workarounds

Drawing Pen, not the best solution for lining but better than XBAWHUEG gundam marker

Problem is that I hate washing/reverse washing, so I just choose the smallest pen around. That and Gundam marker's color suck.

Have you tried the Real Touch pens? IMO they're leagues better than the standard cheap lining pens, and they cover nub marks on top of that

My only gripe with them is that they are not thin enough to get into the really recessed spots, which in this case the small pens rule (I use them too, Sakura brand, great stuff, biggest complaint though is that they dont come in grey, but then again, the line is so thin that nobody would notice, except for on close inspection)

Nowhere viable in my town...

I use Snowman on everything.

Btw, is the Meteorcycle really just needs two Meteor Hoppers, or it needs additional connectors from other product?

ZeroXSEED 2013-12-07 21:29

I think just two, just connect the docking pegs or something

Need to do more research

A new comic book shop opened up in my town recently and found this for only $16.00 (technically 15.99 but still):

I'm thinking on buying it, what say you guys? I will note now I have no paint and this would be my first gunpla.:heh: I also think that picture is actual size because it is about the same size as when I was holding the box.

If you like the suit then by all means get it

ZeroXSEED 2013-12-08 19:25

Gogg is massive sonuvabitch, but if you don't like the weird Zeon aesthetic don't dig it.

If you want to check more, Dalong is the usual place

------

And I just found out, if you careful with the smudge, you can use mechanical pencil for lining. Damn son...

Aurelis 2013-12-08 19:37

This is roughly what it will look like, based on Dalong.net's OOB built without any panel line:

Personally, I believe that it's hard to stop after your first kit. Mine was a HGUC Unicorn and after completing it, I thought it looked lonely alone and had to get another :heh:

PS: A micro-tip pen, which doesn't cost a lot, may also enhance the appearance of said kit.

DuelGundam2099 2013-12-08 19:44

I'd rather get a Mr. Beargguy 'cause the cuddliness or a Dijeh if it exits, but Gogg is in my top 25 favorite non-gundam MSes/MAs (oh hell, /m/'s gonna find out I posted in one of their threads!). What really makes it picky for me are accessories, reeeeeeeally don't care for those.

Dijeh only exist as expensive, unpainted resin custom set, unfortunately.

EDIT: Nevermind, HLJ have them. However, it's a no-grade model and such crappy in everything.

I wanted to make double sure Gogg was beginner friendly.

ZeroXSEED 2013-12-08 20:02

It's kind of old, but not that much. So it'll be easy to build, and still detailed well.

If you're still not sure, save your money and see if the store will get another in the near future.

Only problem with this is some people hate the metallic sheen of the lead, something to consider

The smudging is actually a great budget weathering/wear too

Which is good for mostly black kit like say, my Overflag.

Is master grade hard to built for first timer?

Depends on which MG we're talking about

Latest MG (From 00 and beyond) are horrendously difficult, if I may say.
