avatars with almost nudities prevent me from going to this site during school
can we have some kind of rule for this? these avatars and sigs surely isn't uncensored, but this is one of the problems i face when i visit this site from public places.

i think this forum should have a new rule concerning this problem. im sorry to people who have these kind of avatars and sigs, but you can still find many good pictures without girls almost naked.

Why change the rules to fit the needs of 1 member who is not very active in the first place, when most of the members I know who have these avatars are much more active.

I don't think this is an active member issue... say they just wanna lurk around and read posts/threads at school or at work .... partial nudity and sexually themed avatars/sigs could offend peeps who walk by...

personally... those types of avs/sigs don't bother me...

Actually....I still view this site from school sometimes and the ecchi avas never bothered me. Just restore the window to a smaller size? that way the image wont be so easily spotted and no one will see unless they're roaming around your neck checking to see every picture within the site that your looking at -_-

Some North American don't understand that it is a cultural matter and that the oriental population doesn't give a **** about ecchiness in anime, it is part of it. Seriously this forums are extremely friendly compared to others I've seen, if you take into account that this is an anime forum. Im surprised is not more ecchi actually.

are you kidding me? In my school the connection is fast so people are always surfing on the web during their free periods. I always see the freshman boys playing counterstrike in groups of 4 or 5 every so often, there is one lab that the computer guy actually lets them. Other times they just play other games in the library and hope that the librarians won't notice. If you have a free period there's nothing better to do, lest you prefer to sit down and do homework :dots:

I'm going to agree with the first poster. These "ecchi" avatars/sigs have been a bit of a nuisance to me, in the case that Prince of Chronics pointed out. Sometimes I like to check animesuki (or any other websites) out, at a relatively public computer (such as school, work, internet café, public access computers). These avatars and sigs with boobs and nipples and suggestive images showing causes a misunderstanding by a passerby (café owner, teacher) that I'm looking at something that I shouldn't look at. They don't know this is fairly decent website. As a consequence I've been told to log off the computer. So usually I check this website out when no one's around, which is a bit of annoyance. "Kawaii" images, however, are no problem.

Look, I don't mind these ecchi images. Heck, you can put hardcore porn/hentai if you want for all I care. But others (passerbys) would, and severely restricts the access of this website to home/private use. Anyways, just a thought-cloud of mine...

Unfortunately I see where this is going. Since the site tries to satisfy everyone, all the people with ecchi sig/ava will be asked to change it ... because quite frankly they don't loose anything (it's just a ava/sig) while the other 3-4 people get to browse at a public comp...

Agree 100%! I really like these sigs and avatars as well, there's absolutely no need to change it at all! :D

Lexander How many vet. members wears skinny ecchi avatars ? Most of them ^^ (hope that count) I doubt they get this one, nothing is too explicit in what I see, but I get your point.

Well...it doesn't matter what I deem as porn to me, but what other people deem porn as, since everyone has their own definition of what porn is, or what's too "ecchi". For example, someone might see this as too "ecchi" for school, or public. But right now, most people's avatars/sigs now should be fine if I surf in public. But you never know a member might put up something suggestive that might bother someone. JOJOS'STAR, I remember you had some quite suggestive avatars and sigs too as well in the past :naughty: , along with Slade xTekno. And as I remember correctly, it was either yours or Slade's avatar/sig that bothered a teacher and booted me off the computer. Oh well.

Oh...while we're on topic...what is the limit of "ecchiness" for images and signatures? Can any mods or admins clear this up for me?

Besides... as has been pointed out. If you want to view the forum at school and worry about others seeing something mildly ecchi, then you can disable avatars and signatures.

At the top of the page on the left it says "User CP", after clicking on that, there are a number of options running down vertically. Choose "Edit Options" and then looking down the page you'll see a section titled "Thread Display Options". Just uncheck the boxes titled "Show Signatures" and "Show Avatars" and then at the very bottom of the page click "Save Changes".

Voila! No more problem. Everyone is happy. People who like the very mild ecchiness we allow get their quotient while people who don't like it don't have to see it.

Well, I would like you to point out the kind of "Nudity" you've seen in people's signatures and avatars. I for one have never seen one. I mean, this place is a wholesome environment where people of any age come and enjoy many discussions!!

I have no idea who would be sick and twisted enough to promote or exhibit any kind of ecchiness around here! Just thinking about it riles me up to no ends!! People these days. Sheesh.

As for avatars/signs, I think the problem comes from nipples and such things, so as long as they're censored, the avatar/signature might be fine :p I think you can ask JOJOS'STAR, he has experimented a lot in ecchiness :p
