What is wrong with Ravel in the Anime? She looks the same as the novel imo close enough

She's got a washboard in the anime. In the novels she has like, DD bazoongas.

The LN she has about same as Asia, slightly bigger.. The one picture showing her bazinga's was the artists mistake and he claimed as much.

The outfit she is wearing in anime she can easily be hiding bigger. Asia at times can seem very flat as well.

While her breast size is stated to be the slightly larger than Asia's, visually her breasts have gone from being as petite as Koneko to being just below Xenovia (later confirmed to be a mistake of the illustrator, Miyama-Zero) I would hardly complain to anime, when LN hasn't been much better about her consistancy. Ravel doesn't really see anymore light of day until later down line, so its easy enough for anime to make her bigger. As I said the outfit she is wearing it could be easy to have them be hidden, plus she is super young so they can toss it up as her "growing" since last seen.

From what I've seen of the novel illustrations, pictures of Ravel are a bit inconsistent about her bust size.

Sure. Basically, he'd obliterate anyone but Sirzechs, Leviathan (forget her real name, Sona's sister), Azazel, and Vali with ease. And if a fight broke out and he had to go against them, it wouldn't matter who he had as an escort, as they'd be beyond useless as anything more than a very short meatbag.

So basically, he opted for arm candy.

Thank you for the rephasing. That clears things up. Still think he could have a high level angel :3. Even if they would be of no match too the main power hitters.

He called Rias Ria-tan during the school visit ep if you remember. Also Michael doesn't appear in any of the LN illustrations so I was actually looking forward to his appearance in the anime. Sadly they did w/ him what they did w/ Kokabiel - shoddy character designs. I mean cmon blood-shot eyes, fangs and long ears? And now we have a baby faced Michael.

I didn't catch that part where he calls Ria-tan. Soo Kokabiel wasn't drawn in the LN as well? TBH he did look pretty meh. Looked more like an imp or some meh demon. Then a fallen angel.

What would have been the reason for not drawing Michael? Seeing how he does look like an importent character for the later half of this arc.

I did like Issei dragon sword boosted gear combo he has going there. Reminded me of Omni -mon sword

He's not one of the main characters (ie: Gremory Group) nor a hot chick. There's only so many images in a light novel, so they give the people what they want.

Probably an effort to keep her character relevant in the series so that she seems more like a major character then a one off side character now that her former partner has been promoted to main character status.

So more or less it's just to hold a neon sign over her head that says, "Hey, I'm still important!"

Except she is important. Very important in relation to Michael.

I guess the studio team did a "forward thinking" on it that make it more concurrent with the novels as a whole instead of a the volume.

At the time the author probably hasn't stabilized Irina character and development. Of course now we novel readers do know what Irina eventually turned out as.

And finally it makes more sense that the "Excalibur Incident" people are in the room of the said direct result of the incident.

A random angel doesn't make sense looking back now. Heck if we look at the novels as it stands today their are several individuals that should be standing next to Michael instead, if not Irina

Yea I looked earlier today to see why people were confused by Irina being there. I was like "hmm who was there"

Then I find out its some nobody. A female angel that we get no name from and never hear or see from again.

Might as well throw in someone we know and will be in the series further.

I like when anime takes liberties in regards to things like this. As long as an anime don't spoil some "surprise" or "twist" i'm all for adding things to earlier events that fit into things that happen later.

With 2 episodes left, it is possible to cover the whole volume 4? right?

GDB 2013-09-11 08:10

Yeah, there's only like 1 chapter and the epilogue left, if I'm not mistaken.

The Green One 2013-09-11 08:53

There's plenty of time to animate what's left in volume 4, you shouldn't be disappointed, we're just starting the climax.

And let us hope we do not have to wait another 12 - 18 months for only a tiny morsel of the next part of the story. :(

Irina's not supposed to know that God is dead, yet.

I miss Reynalle.

Actually Irina did/does. Xenovia was Protestant while Irina was Catholic, so she was informed probably off screen so that they handed their reports separately to their higher ups.

It was mention in the Novel, that while Xenovia lost faith, Irina kept hers, or rather, Xenovia couldn't keep her trap shut, and Irina stayed a good little girl.

Which led to Xenovia escaping for her proverbial life to the Gremory. And we deduce how Irina got in with Michael.

The anime does cut off a lot of stuff, that make everything fit better, but then 2 novels per season is already quite a lot already.

Yh that makes sense. Thank you for answering.

To the LN readers. If Season 2 only adapted vol 3 for all 12 eps would you have liked it?

Hell no. Volume 3 was mostly setup for volume 4. It'd have dragged on FAR too long.

DrakeKnight 2013-09-11 21:48

Vol 5 maybe do able for 12 episodes a lot of stuff happened and the longest volume

whsie 2013-09-11 22:37

technically, this is all one very long, multi-volume arc (IMO up to volume 6). So unless they had made Season 2 two cours (4 volumes in 26 episodes), there is literally no way to fit everything.

Not really. Admit it you just want more Koneko frames!

The only volume that can potentially get 12eps is vol10 by DBZing it.
