Favorite Anime "God"
 

It could be an anime charachter who is trying to be and/or claims he is a god.(Light Yagami, Cat who lives in the vending machine(Pani Poni Dash)). An actual God of any kind like Ryuk(death god). And some that would would be a character with "godly like" powers like Haruhi Suzimiya or Lain(Serial Expierements Lain(Debate over this probably))

But come to think of it, there's never been a Godzilla anime, even though the United States has made some of their own cartoons for it. Oh right, the topic.

I give it to Haruhi Suzumiya. Accept no substitutes.

Any of the demi-beings from the CLAMPverse (Yuko, Clow, Sakura, ect.) also get special mention.

Belldandy. Not really many other options. (Though Norio is certainly a worthwhile mention).

male god? Katsuragi Keima from The World God Only Knows

I have to go with Unit-01 in Rebuild of Evangelion. Nothing says "god" like trashing the world so your pilot can be with his girlfriend.

Urd she drinks a lot uses lighting and a half deman and goddess

Pain (Naruto) who teaches what pain is to the "childish" world to make peace through terror

The God from "The Law of Ueki." He's funny. I can't think of many though so he doesn't have much competition.

The Ideon packs both the vengeful god of the old testament and the kind, loving, and nurturing god of the new testament into one hell of a missile spamming giant robot.

I''ll list a few of my favorites... all minor gods/kami...

Kamichu (middle school girl who becomes a kami)
Horo (pagan wolf goddess of the harvest)
Zakuro (demi-god.... half human half kami)

Limited powers, no egomania or megalomania, no hyperbolic righteousness.

Just Horo the Wise. Perhaps because she is not one of those who comes off as dicks.

Hmmm probably Haruhi Suzumiya :heh:. Though both Holo and Zakuro do deserve a mention.

And maybe Keima if he counts :p.
