Oh, someone picked this up. It's one of the best recent novels I've read.

BTW to take some wrong ideas out of the way.

-no harem
-no ecchi
-almost no action (first real action scene is by the end of volume 3, figure).

peoples who want to read stuff like dxd are better looking for something else. There's reason for why allthe characters on the covers of the first 3 volumes are all crying.

4 published, 5th is getting out in april. It will be the last one for the first arc, the next arc will start right away with a first volume, and a different name (think of mondaiji-> last embryo, basically it's the same case, as well as same editor)

Most of those characters are in the process of losing/did lose something very precious to them. While there are moment of happiness as well, thîs isn't a romcom or any happy ecchi comedy.

Except those "girls" aren't defined as "girls" but as "things" per se, and that they don't "protect humanity" since humanity has been wiped out completely 500 years ago (minus one person, but that's not him they're protecting~). They aren't fighting to save the world either. The world is beyond salvation AFAIK so the surviving races pretty much gave up on it. Don't try to find cliché settings in a place where there isn't any, seriously.

they'll only make greater effort in gaining back the land below if they can somehow manage to kill some of the Beasts . . . but since they are having (very) great difficulty in doing so . . . .

So let me get this straight, only female leprechauns can use this powerful weapon, yet the MC, a male, can use them as well. Let me guess, he's also way stronger than anyone else - despite the fact that he should not even be able to use this power in the first place - saves the girl who's supposed to be the best of her kind, and every girl falls for him.

You literally can just read the synopsis of these light novels and imminently know every single plot point. That's depressing.
