Weekend update. I got a good amount of work done towards the end of last week, and a little work over the build gathering. Since I'm letting the clear gloss cure on the first Nu, I got to work sanding the second Nu. Additionally, since the second Nu was toyed around with and just lying around on my work bench while I was working on the first Nu, the parts needed to be soaked in the purple cleaner and then rinsed to remove all the oils, dust, and other environmental contaminants off it. The hobby knife and some coarse grit sand paper went to work on roughing up the kit, adding scratches, dents, dings, and blast marks. Here's the shield:

Next, I did the wire wrapping on the tubes behind the knees. However, for more contrast against the first Nu, I went with a high guage magnet wire. The following picture is a comparison:

And I'm almost done with the painting. Learning my lesson from the first Nu, I painted the indented parts first, masked, then painted the main colors.


There is still a small amount of painting work left on the Nu before I can get it gloss coated and I should be able to get to the decaling for both kits later on this week....

after 2 weeks of experimenting..managed to separate the power supply for the GN cannon. This is a must because it allows both hand-held and fixed on. also increased the light effect for GN bazooka to be more realistic.

now what's left is to build the other GN cannon, and to work on the GN shield on the 4 boxes. toughest part.

anyway, till date i'm already using a total of 12 LEDs! they are located as follows...

1 in the chest
2 on the hands
1 in the head
2 on the backpack-bottom(where it emits GN particles)
4 on the GN cannon
2 on the GN bazooka

And some day someone's gonna have to get loads of those expo releases for ebay. A special green Zaku II ver 2.0, what seems to be a clear version of the 1/60 Exia, a chrome colored 1/144 Exia, and apparently a clear colored MG Strike Freedom. Hmmmm...

Here's something I've been wondering. The HGUC 1/144 Jagd Doga has a nearly internal frame. Sharing some design areas from Sazabi I'm feeling that there would be a rather complete internal frame on the Sazabi. Nice Axe :heh:

MG RX-78 VERSION 2.0? i thought the OYW was version 2.0. if they carried on like this, they can jolly well stop coming out PG. MG version n will certainly overtake the details that PG has.
correct me if i'm wrong, but most MG upgrades do not have LEDs, some are taken away instead! (MG Zeta for instance).

The Expo version should be out on the market, i'm not sure but i do see some here and there.. but the question is if it is worth it. A clear colored version, a chrome version, what's the real difference between a normal version?

Ah, yes, the much anticipated RX-78-2 ver 2.0... Is it just me or does the face looks... uhh... what's the word... less sinister than the previous ones? I really hope that's not the final design for the face; it really looks unattractive. Also, where does it mention that this one will feature an LED system?

And YAAY for Zaku FZ/Kai! =D So it does come with the B-type helmet, after all!

I just realized that Gundam 2.0 is coming out this Summer, and we haven't even seen a single picture/lineart/prototype mold of it. Weird, eh? Bandai sure like surprising us; now its making me really curious to what this "new technology" will be.

I like the new head. It looks like it's straight from the anime or the novel. Some sort of pseudo retro look with modern technology.

If you are referring to what I said, I was just joking because they showed so much head shots I figured there must be something special to something thats just a head :heh:

Picked up a SD Destiny for $10 CND. I really like the SRW look this little fella invokes. Must say I was surprised with all the extras it comes with (sword and cannon, WoL, beam sabers/boomerang, beam shield), probably making it the best SD model so far ^^
I think I will use it to practice the custom color I'm planning to do for its MG version, a blueish/purple and white theme inspired from some pic I saw a couple of times around the net but now I can't seem to be able to find >_<

pff, screw Astrear, gonna get type-F looks way better imo.
