Getting back to watching anime
Lately from this new semester as a Senior I have been worrying way too much and stressing myself out that I haven't really got into anything the last one was Katekyo Hitman Reborn. And it was all good until I finished it and I couldn't bring myself to watch anything else.. I lost a little of my fangirl self, lately. :(
I stopped watching Bleach and Naruto long ago and I feel maybe I should start again or with something new..any Suggestions? |
Any particular genre or other preferences?
|
Also wondering what length of eps you enjoy watching. 12-13 your speed for a series, or you can go for a series in the 70s or 90s eps wise, etc.
|
I'll just toss out a few excellent titles from various genres. The number of episodes is in parentheses:
Seirei no Moribito (26) - fantasy drama set in a fictitious Asian empire Nodame Cantabile (23 + sequels) - college-aged professional music students begin their careers and look for love Claymore (26) - beautiful women use giant swords to kill demonic beasts Welcome to the NHK! (24) - a young woman offers to "cure" a young man of his hikikomori ways Baccano! (16) - American gangsters in the Prohibition era encounter immortals If you're open to longer series, here are two: Monster (74) - Japanese neurosurgeon practicing in Germany encounters the remnants of the recently-fallen Communist regimes Cross Game (50) - high-school baseball players learn about life, death, love, and friendship |
Fairytail?

Are you looking for more recent ones?
How about Steins;Gate then, but if you want something a little lighter how about Haganai? |
Genre is more action, something with a long storyline. Supernatural, Fantasy kinda thing.
Seirei no Moribito and steins;Gate sound interesting I'll look into it. |
Full Metal Alchemist - All around well done except lack of closure at the end.
Ergo Proxy - Cyberpunk themed and a bit hard to get into. Texhnolyze - Quite similar to Ergo Proxy in terms of a setting but more action. |

If you're looking for slice-of-life and comedy try Sket Dance.
Steins;Gate is also good if you want to try something... different? imo. Angel Beats is good as well. Although it is a bit of a tear jerker. :P |

Well here is the list, though it is late and I don't feel like describing each one. Just type the names in google or myanimelist and you will get the description. However, shows with a * are of higher priority in my opinion:
Ao No Exorcist Baccano* - a bit more modern but excellent story telling Berserk* Claymore* D.Gray Man Fate/Stay Night - it has a prequel named Fate/Zero which is 10 times better. But if you watch prequel first, you'll kill all enjoyment in this series Full Metal Panic - a good/ funny Mecha show FMA(both seasons)* Ga-Rei Zero* Inuyasha Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica* Mai HiME Nurarihyon no Mago Soul Eater Sword of the stranger* Tales of the Abyss Toaru Majutsu no Index Hopefully you'll find something of your interest. |
Try Darker Than Black it's got action, supernatural and fantasy. Just the way you like it. However, it has only 2 seasons: 1st season- 25 eps 2nd season-12 eps
Death Note is also a suggestion, that is if you haven't seen it. It still fits your criteria and is 37 eps long. Hope it helped :D |
Old thread, peeps
