Why the missiles aren't painted orange? :(

Sir Dearka 2008-10-07 09:18

The basic Dynames GN Arms DOES need some work to look really good :]

Quick question. I just got the order form from HLJ on how much I owe them. I was just wondering if $60 is a good price for a 1/100 Astraea, an HG 1/144 Throne Zwei, an HG 1/144 Gundam Virtue, and 2 action bases? This is the price including all the shipping. It's alot more than I thought it would be.

Well a great part of the price is the shipping cost. How more you order (in weight) the higher the shipping cost will be.

Yeah I know. It's just that after I added up the weights and did the estimating, the actual shipping is still twice as much as the estimate. Is it still a good price though?

Lol! I managed to complete my MG Impulse in just two days!!

Onto my short review of the model kit:

- The Core Splendor doesn't look anything like it's anime counterpart
- The Force Shilouette wings... Can they be any longer? My jaw dropped when I completed the Shilouette pack.
- Arms: Not quite tight as i hoped....
- Legs: Too tight! And I'm still trying to get used to transforming it into the Leg Flyer.
- Head: Much more slimmer compared to my No Grade 1:100 Sword Impulse.
- Torso: Didn't know the vulcan section could fold to cover the Impulse's face
- Overall: Pretty sleek kit, haven't posed it yet since I'm getting an action base for it tomorrow.

One thing I liked about this kit is that it surpassed it's HCM-Pro counterpart in terms of appearance and proportions. The feets are not Sandrock-huge like the HCM-Pro's. and it has seemingly more movable parts and details. Especially the shield's sliding gimmick, this Gunpla managed to pull that one off quite well.

One downfall though: The beam part for the Excalibur... The tip part fits like a glove but the linear part is just a little too tall fit into the Excalibur, once I fitted the beam in, the mid part of it bended..... Not cool. Otherwise, this kit scores well in over all, you won't regret buying this kit!

(Next in my list: MG Infinite Justice)

Develop a lust in OverFlags recently. Is the HG 1/144 OverFlag worth buying?

Sure is.... But I'd prefer it if you buy the 1:100 instead.... Though it's still a HG, but it has details of a MG model.

MG Strike Freedom Full Burst Mode

Quick question, does anyone know what would be the best way to bend the plastic rods that come with the MG Strike Freedom Full Burst Mode so I display the DRAGOON system properly?

Yes $60 is a good price for all of that including shipping.

I thik you're supposed to dip the clear rod thingies in warm/hot water then you can bend them. My memory is a tad fuzzy.

srb 2008-10-08 07:51

Very hot water should make it malleable.

Tip: Don't use boiling water, it is a bad idea.

1/100 Exia Rollout color - 2,300 Yen

Kelrys 2008-10-08 08:08

What does rollout colour means? Stock black and white?

duotiga 2008-10-08 08:09

roll out means manufactured but without actual paint color

Picture in the post.

Basically, Exia as it was when it was finished but had yet to have its coating applied.

And it's not "Terminator Exia", it's GHETTO EXIA! It's a ghetto repaired mobile suit.

Actually you can make you own by...

1. Cutting Exia sword.
2. Removing its left hand and replacing it with a grayish brown cloth.
3. Get its right red eyepiece from one of the Future Force figurines.

Though I don't quite understand the need for that piece of cloth for its left hand, since there is no air resistance in space, and thus there is no need for streamline.

Hand? Arm. The cloth is there to hide the fact that it only has one arm.

I like how the color scheme looks on this Exia because I'm kinda tired at looking at the traditional parade of colors for the main Gundam in each series. Looking at this model makes me think twice of what I would want to buy next month.

Anyway guys, I'm planning on buying model kits next month, so I need some help. After looking at all of the kits in stock and what I have seen in this thread, the ones that I would probably buy are:
MG Gundam ver. 2.0
-1/100 Exia
-1/100 Avalanche Exia
-MG Shin Musha Gundam
-1/144 GN Arms Type E with Gundam Exia(Trans-AM mode)
-MG Wing Gundam Zero Custom
-1/100 Exia Rollout Color
I can only choose either 2 or 3 of these because I'm kinda short on cash for now. So, which ones are worth it?

duotiga 2008-10-08 09:48

someone actually did it!!!! XD

i wld select
MG Gundam v2
avlanche Exia/MG Wing Zero Custom
MG Shin Musha

Yeah, these 3 are good

MG Gundam ver. 2.0 is now a main stay for my shopping list. Still, after looking at numerous reviews for the ones that I've listed, I still can't choose! Their all to good to pass up.

well for me, out of the list you give:
MG Gundam ver. 2.0 (unfixed)
-1/100 Exia (fixed)
-1/100 Avalanche Exia (fixed)
-MG Shin Musha Gundam (fixed)
-1/144 GN Arms Type E with Gundam Exia(Trans-AM mode) (fixed)
-MG Wing Gundam Zero Custom (fixed, use to have)

my suggestion for gn arms, i still prefer type D(though missiles you have to paint it). Shin musha is really nice after fixed so is avalanche exia n wing zero custom.

Well, considering how much cash I have and how much the price of these model kits at the local shop where I go to, I could buy either 2 MG's, or 3 1/100 HG's, or 1 MG and 1-2 1/100 HG's.

The Avalanche Exia contains the parts for the original Exia, though conversion would involve wedging pieces out. The original is unnecessary if you have Avalanche.

Really? That just makes things more interesting on my next purchase. Since the price tag of the 1/100 Exia and the 1/100 Avalanche Exia isn't that far from each other, I can consider taking the Avalanche on my list.

my question is, how does the Crossbone X-1 Ver. Ka compare poseability wise to those models?
