Episode 1

Pretty interesting episode. There's definitely some metaphors with the character designs especially the red and white blood cells.

From the first episode, there are certain antagonists that takes the form of bacteria. I'm surprised at how over the top some of the character reactions are though. Their behavior is very human-like. The story imo has a creative premise and really takes advantage of exploring the human body. I'm also impressed at how many body parts are already been shown just from the first episode.

I wonder if every episode's title will feature the monster of the week? This first episode is "Pneumococcus".

Has a lot of potential imo. This could be a dark horse of the season.

This was such a fun and hilarious start to this series. Since my background is in biology, I just find it all the more hilarious! Especially the "Sneeze" missiles (that go "Achoo!" instead of boom, LOL)! :heh: :heh:

Looking forward to more this series.

LOL, I noticed it's already been mentioned above about erythrocytes' high turnover rate. :heh:

A far cry from watching Fantastc Voyage as a kid this one!

This anime is something have great potential so funny and unique with all design choices for the cells(kids/preschoolers for platelets was something funny too) and ditto the design for threat.

Seems those kids will have a lot of work for next chapter

Those tiny Thrombocytes are so adorable~ <3
Wait, child labor is forbidden!!! Then again in a world where tiny pre-school kid repair streets, white killer police guys run around murdering bacterias and virens while screaming "die, shitty bacteria" while looking like an enraged berserker and red blood cells have no idea where the lung is, everything is possible. xD
I like this first episode a lot. Felt like a more brutal and over the top "Once upon a time...Life" though I am sure kids would love this one more than the original. Well, expect really small kids. Albeit the text boxes aren't a good way to educating kids, that was done better in the original with lots of time to explain and many many pictures as examples.^^

Where was this anime when I was in college? Much more entertaining than my bio textbooks for sure!

I've looked forward to this one, and I was not disappointed. So much cute, so much action. Too bad theirs is a doomed romance, since cells just don't do that. (Plus, red blood cells don't even have a nucleus.) Still, a jolly great ride all the way. I don't mind the pacing, since there is plenty of action even so. Except for the ED. That one is slooow. But that may be intentional, to wind down the younger watchers who might otherwise leave overly excited from the splatter and explosions. All in all one of my favorites of the season so far.

This reminds me a lot of Osmosis Jones but those platelet where so cute But to bad that red blood cell just got so lost

Mistyclear 2018-07-07 21:36

...hmmm this is certainly a different way to learn about the body.
