So whats everyone gonna be for Halloween?

Halloween is just around the corner and I'm still not sure what I want to dress up as. I was thinking about dressing up in some sort of asian wardrobe. I was looking on ebay and the was wondering what the old traditional robes that the Japanese and Chinese wore were called. I know Kimonos for the Japanese but don't know what those silk outfits that the chinese wore are called.

Anyways what are you guys going to be?

Edit- found a pretty cool place that sells kung fu outfits online.

If Halloween comes only once a year...then for that day i'd want to be the best person i can, as compared to that particular year itself :)

Lord Raiden 2004-10-08 08:54

LOL. Inuzuka, that's strangely funny. :D hehe. But funny in a good way. ;)

I've already announced that I plan to go dressed as Itachi for halloween. IF my last two parts arrive soon, I'll be easily able to do that. :D

I'm goin to be.... to old to go out ~sigh~ the problem of being too damned tall to pass off as a kid ><

Mr_Paper 2004-10-08 09:28

I managed to get my hands on a small amount (aka. several liters) of stage blood so...

I'm going to dawn the traditional 'wife beater' garbs, cover my doorway, self and entrance way with blood splatter then answer the door with a drunken slur and an old beaten up blood soaked bat. To further the effect, a good friend is going to play the victim laying in a pool of blood just beyond the doorway gasping for help. I don't just aim to scare the kids, parents are fair game too.

It wont be as fun as last halloween, but there's less chance of me getting arrested this way. >.>;

So what if you're too old! I don't go out collecting candy anymore, instead I try my hardest to ensure those kids suffer either some form of psychological trauma or are atleast sleep deprived for a couple days.

MidoriShinobi 2004-10-08 09:32

I'm going to be Etna from Disgaea! If I get it finished in time, that is..

Meatwad 2004-10-08 09:33

I'm going to dress up as a white guy with brown hair.....and since I am a white guy with brown hair, I don't have much work to do :D

Virus 2004-10-08 10:13

As myself. I miss being a young :( .

gravitation 2004-10-08 10:14

I am going to a shamisen concert thing hopefully, so I wont be dressing up :(

If I had access to anime costumes easily I would dress as...hmmm...not too sure :heh:

O o o! I wouldn't mind dressing in traditional japanese clothing! Or a Final Fantasy character! <3

_Sin_ 2004-10-08 10:36

Whatever you go as, please make sure to take photos and post them here :D

Mr_Paper arrested!? O_o! omg! that was certainly unexpected...

*scared by Mr_Paper* :upset:

There are no mantis-size costumes sadly, unless I make one, so I just never dress up in halloween, its fine I guess, I dont feel like wearing costumes, I find that a bit freaky.

but It would be really nice if you people post your pic in costume like _Sin_ suggested, no matter how scary might be I want to see Mr_paper covered in blood ^_^

_Sin_ 2004-10-08 15:18

I now know as what I'll be for Halloween:

Otaku! That's sure to frighten the kids!

-or-

as NSW; no need for a costume here. This applies for gender as well

*rubs his hands* :D

What is this Halloween? Sounds pretty groce, having a lot of blood and strange people in stranger costumes...

(J/K, I know what it is but no one spends it around here.)

Well then. Should we get started? We have to prepare now so you won't feel so awkward. First off, the genitals and your wang have to go. If you're going to have no gender, you have to get rid of that. Then the second and last step will be to wait 4 weeks. It takes a while to get use to it being gone. ;)

If you don't like that you could always be a robot. All there is to do it to take out your brain and put it into a robotic body.

durrem 2004-10-08 16:52

This should be handled with duct tape, either for the top or bottom, depending on what gender you are. You can't have enough duct tape...

JERI 2004-10-08 17:02

I'm gonna dress up as Michael Jackson and scare the neighbour kids shitless.

Lina Inverse 2004-10-08 17:18

Ah, Halloween - one of these funny American customs :D
As Halloween generally isn't celebrated over here, guess I'll just be myself.
There might be a few who "celebrate" it, but that generally looks like that they go to the next pub and booze till they drop, just like at every other occassion they get. The pub might even have a pumpkin standing somewhere, but probably not. That's it - no dress up, no trick&treating or whatever.

Shay 2004-10-08 17:24

I’m just going to take a shit load of mind altering drugs and stay in and watch all the scary movies. :D

Muir Woods 2004-10-08 17:50

Alright Halloween! Most likely I'll just be going to a Halloween party instead of trick or treating. I guess I'm a bit too old for that. Also it's a time to continue the tradition of egging some houses with friends...heh heh heh. Watch out! That shadow you just saw outside your house could be us :p :heh: (if you live in Vancouver that is).
