New .hack OVA series, first episode will be premiered at the TBS Anime Fes VS on 27th November. The story is set in The World R:X, and takes place after the events of the PSP game .hack//Link.

Looks good, the trailer probably packed more action than all the other .hack// series combined, too.

Joke aside, the fact that this ISN'T being directed by Mashimo makes me interested. I don't think he's a bad director, but he clearly is unable to make an action scene that can be considered anything more than 'extremely boring and definitely not thrilling at all", in my opinion.

Plus, I've been liking Hanazawa Kana more and more lately, and Sawashiro is an old-time favourite, so that's good as well. And then we get Otani scoring it, who, arguably, hasn't done anything fantastic lately but still has a lot of credit due to his fantastic SotC soundtrack.

Oh, and did I mention Yuuka's song is great? If things keep going on this way Ozawa will soon be the new Kajiura, as my pal Horse says.
But anyway, yeah, bring it on, I'm excited for this new .hack// project.

Interesting. I hope it pans out better than the psp game though. The simple plot and characters really disappointed me. Ended quitting early on and trading it in :/

Is this another spin off like Legend of the Twilight?

I spy lots of .hack cameos (or more different PC with similar templates). I'm in love with the new Nanri Yuuka song composed by Ozawa. This already looks leahues better than any of the Beetrain .hack anime. I'll just have to stomach female Kite >_<.

Though, the female Kite looks pretty different then how she was in LINK.

Looks interesting, I'll probably watch it for the prettiness that's Mary and Tobius. I also hope for lots of good action scenes and eye candy backgrounds.

Yeah, you can distract me with pretty from time to time, though there's a limit, if the story sucks then I'll probably drop it (or just rant about it).

Though I got to go LOL at female Kite. At least it wasn't female Wiseman with those pigtails.

Man, I would rather see a .G.U. version of an anime series(that's not a rehash like the ova). I think G.U.'s world was 2x much interesting than the original .hack, though that may be just because the main actually had a PURPOSE for playing the game (=_=). Am I the only one who's just tired of Balmung? I'm not saying he sucks or anything, I'm just tired of seeing him. Plus the .G.U. chars just seemed more vibrant somehow and... ok, let me stop complaining =0\.

Balmug is prob there for the girls. A winged guy can be sexy. But is this Balmug female? Avatar looks male.

Kite is also twin-tailed this time. Hitting those otaku points nicely.

Not heard of .hack//Roots ? It sets up the G.U. games pretty well if you don't mind emo-Haseo and lots of nothing happening. I actually liked Roots Haseo more than Game Haseo, only because the design of the games takes the focus away from his constant "BAAAAWW SHINO" mindset, which is actually a realistic mindset for today's youth (meeting/falling for someone online and then stalking/searching for them when he/she disappears). :offtopic:

I can't help but wonder if this series will depend on the events of .hack//Link as a backdrop, especially since the game doesn't seem to be coming out in any English-speaking countries.

A new .hack! This intrigues me. Couldn't take G.U seriously at all because at the time, I was a WoW player :heh:

Am I the only one who thinks that the .hack series has expanded a wee bit more than it should have? I'm not saying that it's getting bad, just kinda...iunno, different.

Prob but I like .hack so I don't mind more.

The obvious being stated, I am rather interested in seeing if this will be any good.

I really do wish they did an actual quality anime of the GU storyline.
