Looks like they're keeping the sponsors.

Also, we have three new heroes.

About time the thread title was changed, if it still hasn't been apparent enough that Precious Eve was the name of the event that was held the other day and not S2's subtitle.

The episode is out today, right?

First 13 eps are out in fact.

Nachtwandler 2022-04-16 17:08

Watched 4 eps today. It is the same old Tiger & Bunny in general. Not perfect but decent superhero show. The new character are fine, though Thomas/Black duo looks like more exagerrated copy of the MCs. I just hope they won't delve to much in fujo pandering (which is highly possible, considerint it is Netflix).

I just finished the 1st cour (13 eps) of TB2 and I do like it. It's still as charming, delightful & cheesy as the first season & movie (and filled with morals & social commentaries both big & small).

I'm glad that it's not a recycle of season 1's plot and we actually have character progression in this cour. Origami Cyclone's past was explored via Rock Bison, and Dragon Kid actually had an episode for herself & her new kouhai-partner, Magical Cat. Oh, and we have a sorta-date that went awry between Karina & Kotetsu (nice try, Karina. But it's too bad that a fanatic pervert ruined it). Kotetsu's daughter (Kaede) also get some screentime here when she chooses to enter hero school. Sky High & Fire Emblem gets the most "gay pairing" treatment btw.

Kotetsu & Barnaby have become a solid team for the entirety of the cour after everything they've been through in S1 & movie (and in this cour, Barnaby gets to interact with his long lost childhood friend). In fact, the management are now implementing the "buddy system" by pairing the superheroes and assign T&B as the senior duo where other pairs can ask for some advice. That said, Tiger's power is dwindling. He can hardly use his power for 1 minute but he still keep going nevertheless. Many of the conflicts actually came from new recruits, Mr. Black & HIT that's peppered throughout this cour. The pair is like a personification of brash extrovert & edgy introvert. But their character development is good enough (and probably still not over yet).

The main villains are...quite tragic. It's safe to say that they're just Ouroboros' pawns more than anything.

Of course, this show is not perfect. The CG models for a lot of characters are still jarring & clunky, especially for the ones without armors. And if you don't like episodic storytelling or not invested enough with the protags' stories, the first 7 episodes might be a chore for you. I actually recommend not binging the first 7 episodes but rather watch 1 each day. But after I've done episode 8, I literally couldn't stop watching till the end.

All in all, it's a good watch if you're already invested in T&B. Newcomers shouldn't jump in directly coz this cour won't bother explaining to you who the previous cast are. Check out the S1 first if you wanna get into it. I can't wait for the next cour of TB2.

I'm going through the episodes one by one to savor it. So far on Episode 2, I can't say I'm fond of Mr. Black. He feels like a walking mass of contradictions, complaining about heroes in the city only caring about fame and glory but his efforts to get it nearly cost the operation.

Anh_Minh 2022-04-27 10:47

Agreed. I've finished ep 6 and he's still a pretentious jackass.

Nachtwandler 2022-04-27 11:00

He is just your typical shounen protagonist. What you except here?

I personally watched 7 eps, hope to finish the first cour today or tomorrow (had no time before).

Frontier 2022-04-27 12:34

He feels like a younger, more raw, version of Kotetsu to me.

Twi 2022-04-27 14:29

It's the profession that it doesn't mesh with. Someone could legitimately die over it, so I expect a certain level of maturity considering they were getting shot at by automatic weapons and he was supposedly a small-time hero, meaning he should know better.

Like, I was starting to agree with his Supervisors considering the sheer negligence. He really should have checked his device at all times and he acted like he wanted to make a name for himself rather than anything else.

I mean, could you imagine if he was in the same situation as Kotetsu and Barnaby when they had to deal with the bomb? They at least shelved the fighting until after they got it out of the building, despite the fact that they weren't very close.

Obelisk ze Tormentor 2022-04-27 15:49

Btw, Chubby Agnes is kinda adorable :P

Absolutely not. Kotetsu's always been more about the heroism than the glory. That guy? You really have to wonder.
