I am relieved that Hare didn't die in this ep. She just turned into the cystal because of the virus...then shattered into the dust in front of Shu ^^

She's dead, okay? We're not going to see her again. I never liked her to begin with. She better not appear again.

I think she crystalized after her void was shot/destroyed by the chopper. I don't think it was mentioned anywhere that she got the virus, so getting crystalized out of nowhere by the virus now doesn't make any sense to me.
I am already starting to enjoy the 2nd half of Guilty crown is much more than the first one.

Also i am wondering whom Shibungi meant that he would meet after beating Segai in a chess game.

Hare wanted Shu to be a kind king, so I think his decision at the end was not wise. Not exactly a great way to honor the death of one the few people that believed and supported you.:uhoh:

Hare believed in his kindness, but Shuu's kindness costed her life. Also Shuu never heard Hare's last words, because he was "incapacitated" by the explosion.

I know Shu couldn't hear her. I was commenting on the whole irony of the thing, as a viewer with additional knowledge. Her death results in him (potentially) becoming the type of person she didn't want him to. It's really sad. Hare is the self-sacrificing type. Remember when she was talking about the story of the kind king? She still liked him even though his kindness screwed the kingdom over. The same goes for her desire for Shu to be kind. It's naive and will certainly screw things up, but that is Hare's strong belief.

So you would rather him to stay kind and screw up everything :twitch:?

Now THIS is the kind of Guilty Crown I've been wanting to see. It'd go with the title perfectly. Looking forward to furthur development as the series continues. But yeah, very tragic episode indeed... Perhaps Shu would've aimed to be 'the kind King' Hare loved so much if he heard those words, even though that apparently wouldn't turn out well in the end.

That coat just might fit in well with all this.

This entire episode had Shuu being indecisive because of his kindness. He doesn't want to discriminate anyone, but he also knows that it's not realistic to be fair to everyone due to their resource problems.
Even if it is kind of ironic that he will become someone that he and Hare never wanted to be, but Hare's death (which was in a way the fault of those lowest rank void users who wanted to proof themselves) caused Shuu to believe that he was wrong the whole time.


Didn't mention Tsugumi in this episode that Gai once said that "sympathy only hurts people"? Unfortunately for Shuu, Gai was proven right after this episode's events

Again, I disagree that you have to completely abandon being kind/compassionate in order to be an effective leader. I don't think his indecisiveness necessarily had to do with him being kind, but with not being experienced at leading and thinking through things. This all boils down to how you interpret Hare's death. I believe it was to give Shu resolve to not just be a good leader, but a kind one. That was her wish, and my hope is that he will eventually fulfill that. Right now he's taking it to the extreme. Other are interpreting her death as a wake up call to Shu that needs to more like Gai (perhaps more) and willing to occasionally look like a bad guy in order to get things done. In other words, Hare was totally off the ball in her view of what Shu should and could become. The thing is that Gai is Gai and Shu is Shu. Weren't the earlier episodes focusing on how Shu needs to stop trying to be like someone else?

Shu's biggest challenge IMHO is going to be how he can be an effective leader like Gai, but in his own unique way.

While it was probably somewhat true that Shuu should not try to become Gai, but you seem to forget one thing. Originally Gai was the inconfident one and he was inspired by Shuu. So in some kind of twist of fate Gai has become what Shuu would have become and vice versa if it weren't for the Mana incident.
So I think that Shuu's change is not an imitation of Gai, but his own original way of leading.
