Well, it seems Bones aren't finished with this series yet. Here is the brief article from Moonphase dated under 6/3/2009 which says Bones has announced another season for DtB.
Some of us already knew it's a matter of time. The story is pretty interesting. The format of the show, which is telling a story in couple of episodes, allows plenty of wiggle room to expand on the idea. The story is quite milkable. DtB website hasn't been updated yet. Little is known at this time, so will update as more news comes out. Just to refresh the memory about what this show is based on and for those new viewers, here is the synopsis in the following:

Suddenly anomalous field impossible to analyze appears in Tokyo. As if they responded to the field named “Hell’s Gate”, people that have new powers and completely different from the current human begins appear. They have lost their minds and sometimes kill people cruelly. People call them “Contractor” with fear.

Will be looking forward to it.

Yes he did, though i'm not ruling out that the possibility that he won't return.

I'm quite interested on how this second season will be handled, and how it'll connect to the first. Will it continue straight after the events, or even set a few years after. For all we know, it might even be a prequel to the first season.

Man this is great news this year turning out to be good for animes. Now if only they announce a few more titles that I'm interested in.

woot second season!!! Too bad almost all the contractors died from the first season.

This just made my day. The first season was awesome, so I'm happy to hear that another is in the works. I know there'll probably be new characters all over the place, but I hope the detective and his secretary stick around. Those two were all sorts of silly fun. I'll going to miss Mao, though.

In my own opinion, this is photoshopped. It seems that HeiXYin shippers are over-excited ever since the manga released (there is a manga sequence to st season if you don't know). Someone photoshopped the scan and changed the conversation (the original script is totally business-like) before most people had their hands on the manga.

Cant say i am surprised we knew it was coming but its already great to finally see it up on AS. I loved the first season especially the music (Hero with out a name ROCKS). I have very high hopes for the sequel so man plot holes left open in the first season it was inevitable it would continue.

Amazing news - can't wait for more details.
