Just PM it

Fireminer is Vietnamese so there's that

Fireminer 2014-03-19 10:58

Pah! It's so hard not to blow a hole to my wallet. Gunpla is so expensive in Vietnam.

Gezz, how much? Here in south america a bandai original one is at least a 200% more expensive (and that if you can find a online store that sells cheap), and normally there are at 300-400% more expensive. Stupid customs taxes don't make sense.

Case in quote, the HG 1/144 WZC EW

-Last time I checked into HLJ: 16$
-Here: Over 50$

Holy crap, and I thought my local hobby store mark ups were bad >_>

(well to be fair, the HG store prices are actually quite decent, the MGs though are usually at least 15 USD up)

Providenceangle 2014-03-19 12:44

At least you can buy local... I'd have to go 3 hours out of my way, just to get to a local shop, to get that roughly 20% markup lol.

ZeroXSEED 2014-03-19 19:11

> mfw local hobby shop sell gunpla for 140% tag at worst, 110% at best
> mfw online stores sell at 120% tag on average

Feels good being Southeast Asian :p

RG Strike Freedom here is 33$, but since the shop is in Ho Chi Minh city, so I've to pay the shipping fee, too.

Galaxian 2014-03-19 19:49

I usually wait for the random price cuts in Amazon to buy Gunpla. Got Kampfer Amazing for $23.

Strigon 13 2014-03-19 19:55

Dirty asians and their dirty cheap gunpla prices... joking :p

But really, having to pay more than twice the price of a gunpla in customs taxes is just... armed robbery.

Well, at least shipping fees here are dirty cheap.

Wild Goose 2014-03-19 20:41

I have found a local hobby store in Times Square called Gamers Arena. Prices are actually pretty competitive with the online retailer I'd been going to, but they charge higher for shipping...

...which is not a problem, because opposite Times Square in Low Yat Plaza, and next month I'm going there to buy new RAM to upgrade my computer. XD So on my way back from buying RAM (and maybe a new hard drive), I'll stop by the place and buy Gunpla with cold hard cash.

I'll get that kit, but it'll need some work. It's based off the HG00 Exia kit, so that means most of the joint parts will be ABS plastic.

Wish they made an Amazing Exia kit, too. Would be nice if I could turn it into this:

^ LOL that’s smart :D. Now that makes me wonder if they’re influenced by Kamen Rider Ozu Tajador when they make Dark Matter.

Rising Dragon 2014-03-20 12:31

So... according to that box art, the Exia Dark Matter has elemental properties for its swords?

This was mentioned in the original blurb for Dark matter when it was revealed.

So let's see... the antenna on the head drops down like Dynames... The Dark Matters' wings are actually swords... And the Dark Matter Booster is actually the GN Drive... So if that thing comes off, what propulsion does Exia use to fly...?

And I see the kept its original GN Drive... Using GN[T] Drives would have been more fitting...

ZeroXSEED 2014-03-20 15:20

Seems to be a GN condenser or somesuch.

Bonta Kun 2014-03-20 16:02

Got my MG Gundam X now......but I'm in the process of moving house(who in their right mind would buy gunpla while in the middle of moving house, honestly...)so won't be able to build it for abit, it is however next on my list as I really want to build that bad boy.

Well... if you see the image, there isn't anything that can output any GN Particles O.o;;

Well this is a kit, so guess we should wait till next week until how it fights.

Haha, I know exactly what you mean. I've been putting off building my kits for a while now after moving, because we don't have a place for everything yet. It's better to move them around in boxes, than as individual kits. They're begging to be (re)built though:heh:

Knight_SV 2014-03-20 18:29

Finished build my hguc victory and f91, they're so small compared to the rest of hguc kits lol

ZeroXSEED 2014-03-20 18:50

Hmm, I wonder how does it compare with GN archer

Where do you see that? All I see is that the facemask can be removed, not that the V-fin drops down.

Skye629 2014-03-21 01:23

Does anyone know if the MG AGE-1 Normal Unit 2 comes with the clear parts for the chest? Im assuming it does due to the way the A is attached to that clear plate, but I cannot find any pictures of the plates/unbox to verify this

Help? Considering to pick it up, as I really like the colors, and the build should be pretty fun

ZeroXSEED 2014-03-21 02:04

According to Dalong, there are small clear parts for the chest, mounted on the chassis

Good thing that I don’t really care that much about MG Banshee Norn. I have one MG Banshee standard and not really interested to get another (especially with inflated exclusive price). Chances are, I’ll pay it some attention if I found a really really good deal. If not, I’ll just enjoy the pretty pictures of it. The HG Banshee is more fun than the MG. The only drawbacks are foil-stickers galore and the hands can't hold beam sabers right (but you can always use the Beam Tonfa mode).

Blazer-X 2014-03-21 11:46

What I don't understand is how Unicorn Phenex got a full release, despite being a lazy design and having only one appearance in an obscured event while Banshee Norn, which is sorta a final boss of sorts, gets only an Online exclusive.

Yes, I know we already have the Banshee (I have one myself). But I'd at least expect Bandai to make it a full release and maybe make "conversion parts" an online exclusive.

ZeroXSEED 2014-03-21 13:07

It's Bandai, their business plan are weird like that

Sometimes they're too generous, sometimes they're lazy, and sometimes they're just plain stupid.

They managed to fuck up already old design, while the same time releasing high quality kit at competitive price.

Still vividly remember the shitstorm about Full Armor Unicorn

It’s Bandai-logic, one of the greatest mysteries in the world :uhoh:. I mean, they released the obscure Zaku Cannnon and Sinanju Stein as normal releases MGs, but released the popular Tallgeese II as an exclusive MG. I’m not really sure whether it’s bad marketing or not, but they indeed made some strange decisions (to me at least).

I can SOMEWHAT understand Tallgeese II being only a 2-3 episode MS and being an AU suit. Also, only the head is really different between the it and vanilla Tallgeese. But for that same reason, I don't get why Bandai is doing this to its own beloved UC series, especially to a variant of Banshee that gets quite a bit of equipment upgrades.

I mean, unless they're holding out for a Green Frame Banshee Norn regular release (theoretically possible), I just don't see why they are releasing Norn as Online Exclusive.

Fireminer 2014-03-21 21:35

Say that to the various Kamen Rider figure and merchandise.

Damn! They sell the most wanted Lookseeds as exclusive!

FA Unicorn originally released as Online Exclusives

the Nerdrage caused by mass release afterward stalled heat death of universe :heh:

Did not know this. Maybe there's some hope after all... Unless of course, we're getting Banshee Norn Final Spec (Green Frame) Ver.

The episode-count or the mecha’s screentime doesn’t really matter actually (see Zeong). What (usually) matter is popularity (see PG Astray Red Frame). Like I said, Bandai-logic is sometimes pretty hard to understand.
