First the Skinny

Absolutely no campaign posts allowed.

This includes posts containing ANY campaign verbiage whether in whole or in part. Contributing to the debate is encouraged, provided you do NOT add "VOTE ABCD!!!" (or similar to the post itself). Simply rebutting another's post or opinion with "XYZ sucks" is totally unacceptable.

To be clear:

* Please do not create a post with the sole purpose to campaign for a character!
* Do not add “VOTE FOR XYZ CHARACTER!!” anywhere in your post even if the intent isn't to purely campaign.

We want intelligent, decent and fun discussions about the weekly Rounds and the subsequent winners & losers.

* No Image campaigning.
Do not create a post with an image or collage representation of a campaign poster. In other words: a PhotoShopped image of the character you want people to vote for with “vote for” text added to it.



Posting Etiquette:

* Please do not cross post information about this tournament in other AnimeSuki threads except those which are related to moe tournaments.
Keep all Anime Best moe Tournament posts, campaigns, character information, voting links, etc., within this thread only or in your signature (signature size limits still apply).

* No "meta-posting".
Meaning: posting about another poster, the thread or about another post itself, is forbidden and will be deleted on-the-spot, regardless of intention. If you want to comment about another poster that’s off-topic and/or personal, send them a PM.

* Any flame-baiting will be deleted and those people banned.
Please keep the thread positive, fun and clean. If your choice doesn’t win the Round and you can’t discuss the fact without complaining, swearing and baiting people into arguments, then don’t post.

* Do not create image only posts.
You can, however, include an image with your discussion. If you want to visually support the character you’re voting for then please do so in the context of your original discussion and use only one or two images. We would encourage the use of “thumbnails” if possible (and please, no large images).

Character Eligibility

2009년 7월 1일 ~ 2010년 6월 31일 사이에 방영된 TVA, 발매된 OVA, 개봉된 극장판 애니메이션, 주최측이 인정한 동인 애니메이션에 등자한 여성 캐릭터.
Feale characters from TVA, OVA, Movie, or Doujin Anime (if approved by the administrator ) which was broadcasted or released between 1st July 2009 ~ 31th June 2010.
* 여기서 남성캐릭터의 조건은 실제적 성이 남성인 캐릭터를 뜻함
* Term 'Female character' includes characters whose gender is actually female.

I'll try my best to participate. If it isn't too much to ask, may I have a quick skim of how this tournament works?

This first time saimoe started first before Best Moe...

I belive J-Saimoe was first I assume

Please concern yourself only with the English portions. I do believe all the important things are in English as well



J-Saimoe usually starts with nomination stage which usually starts before Best Moe. Best Moe's prelim involves every eligible character thus prelim is not needed, but due to time it takes for the staff to check the database, it tends to start little bit after J-Saimoe nomination start. Best Moe usually proceeds in faster pace and ends sooner, for it needs some preparation time for the Super Best Moe that starts in November.

hmmm the list looks good, but why isnt Shana in this? I thought Shana S would make her eligible

I was referring to which tournament was created first

"3-year" rule - if a series participated 3+ times already it is ineligible. This was implemented to address some issues that arose primarily during Male Div. as well as some during Female Div as well..

Thus One Piece, Yugioh, Keroro Gunso (Sgt Frog), Gag Manga Biyori, Reborn!, Pokemon, Gintama, Detective Conan, Shana, Hayate no Gotoku, ToHeart2, Higurashi, Kyou no go no ni, Hidamari, Nodame Cantabile, Ikki Tousen, Major, Prince of Tennis are ineligible to participate starting this year. But who knows, the rule may change again in the future so that "new" characters can participate..

Currently some Hidamari characters are on the list but they'll be replaced soon.

ugh so in the end they actually agreed to go ahead with that rule...horrible -_-
But I really do hope they reconsider since there are some characters that still need a chance in the future *cough*Athena*cough*

The Best Moe Tournament Female Division matches will start on July 24th (KST ).

진행 포맷은 다음과 같습니다.

The Tournament format is as follows.




예선 1차 : 총 96조 조 당 4인 진출

Prelim 1st Round : 96 groups. Top 4 advances

예선 2차 : 총 32조 조 당 3인 진출, 조당 12명 ( 총 384명)

Prelim 2nd Round: 32 groups of 12 contestants ( total of 384 contestants ) top 3 advances

96강 : 3:1

Round of 96 : groups of 3 contestants. Only one contestant who has the most votes in her group advances

32강 : 1:1

Round of 32: single elimination phase starts.

16강 : 1:1

Sweet 16 : Single knockout stage

8강 : 1:1

Elite 8: 1 vs 1 match

4강 : 1:1

Final 4 : notice that no consolation round will be scheduled

결승 : 1:1

Final Championship : The voting booth will be open for 2 days, instead of the normal 1 day

Heh. seems matchup schedule is out. (Click 일정 & 대진표 - 1st button on hot pink thing with the calendar). But main page still needs to be updated.

Very tough this year with 4 characters / group go through on prelim 1st round, and once you're out there's no coming back. Hmm.

What I thought were interesting groups...
Group 8 - Nakano Azusa, Shirai Kuroko, Saber
Group 27 - Illyasviel von Einzbern, Fukuji Mihoko, Saten Ruiko
Group 45 - Tosaka Rin, Yui (Angel Beats!)
Group 68 - Beatrice, Nakamura Yuri (Yurippe), Tachibana Kanade (Tenshi)
Group 95 - Senjougahara Hitagi, Yuuki Mikan, Konjiki no Yami

In addition there is also Index vs Mikoto in group 28...

Interesting. That many groups and they still managed to get those 2 in the same group.

I share your sentiment. You can't believe how much brain time I used to find ways to go around the random god.
