Awwwwwwwwwww, no mention for Phillip!!!! His scene's awesome this episode. Old people are so hotblooded in this series without even trying.

Given the history of Spain and what's coming up next,
1) all the old guys coming to save their "weak" chancellor
2) Phillip recounting his losses from previous war
3) trying to save the country from the current war's aftermath
4) the part where the music cuts and he said that one line to Juana
5) which in contrast to that "lie" from immediately before
all in all were quite tear-jerking (I definitely started seeing water in my eye when reading). He is my favorite character this season cause the things he say are so simple but poignant; he makes for a really great contrast with Toori given how they are so different yet they're both inspiring in their own ways; only quality they share is a "King" can always summon billions of people at a moment notice to die for him.

Funny thing: after the last episode's preview, people thought that this episode would have a special ED with the start of the battle and Juana crying while the credits are rolling, but this is great too.

Matsuura YOU'RE THE BESTEST!!! Sanzingen really kicked ass this episode with all the 3D animation. Aura AND staging-wise this has to be the best in terms of full scale war of this year (and probably the year before too). Everything's so ridiculously compact (it's really starting to show here now especially near the end). If the character has ONE line here they probably said one-two pages or so in the book ... and the fight scenes get even more condensed because imagining all the fleet movement written out in wordsssssss (balancing between full scale warzone and "hero unit" fights, Kawakami bestestttt).

Speaking of which, there was a Chara Hobby event, and Horizon had a stage there. FukuJun as his closing words said that the staff maxed out their effort on the last two episodes**, and has the 4x the materials of other anime. Last time he said something like this (regarding staff effort) was back season 1 for episode 4+5, I don't like to overhype things but after seeing how good this "intro" episode is I think it would be ok to start hyping things now. It's all fighting from here on except for 1 scene + ending iirc.

**there's two version of his line (they're kinda the same, but I opted more to the 2nd version because it's on 2ch and had a really summary of the entire event; first one's reported here)

That SLAP!!! alone warrants a 10/10 for this episode.

Sky Love Hurricane Slap! :eyespin:

I thought there would still be one more episode but IT IS ON NOW! And Team Musashi is in a two way battle fighting Tres Espana over water as well as their own English Allies over Mary. Of the two I'm definitely more excited for the Armada battle, and it looks like all the seemingly unrelated set up with the Tres Espana characters comes together in this.

Also, it wasn't until I saw the radar map that it dawn onto me just how FREAKING HUGE Musashi's ships were :eyespin: The Spanish Armada looks tiny compared to them! The smaller half-elf(?) ships were reduced to dots :eyespin: Adele as Admiral of the Fleet is an interesting choice.

articuzwolf 2012-09-02 03:58

as I suspected before, that letter for Felipe was written by Juana herlself

all out aerial war against tres espana and individual battle in the ground against England's Trump

next week episode will be awesome

LOLed at Masazumi being chased by Christopher Hatton and his army again

Here, a handy comparison for the true size of Musashi. It makes the Enterprise look small. Don't forget, it is almost as long as Mt Everest is tall.

It is actually impossible to imagine it. Just think; if you stand on one edge of the ship, you would not be able to see the opposite end.

The dimensions of the Musashi are:

• Total Length (from the front end of Shinagawa to the rear end of Takao, or from the front end of Asakusa to the rear end of Oume) - 7356 m
• Width (from starboard side of one ship to the port side of the ship on the opposite side) - 2076 m
• Height (from beam to lowest point in the hull) - 863 m

Compare this to the longest ships in modern times:

Imagine this, the longest passenger ship, the Queen Mary 2, is only ~5% the length of the Musashi!

Its hard to believe that the Musashi I see in the anime was that big... Keeping a huge ship with that weight will drain a lot of fuel...

*Thank God, the Empire's Ship is bigger... I love that ship...

In the Horizon world anti-gravity is relatively easy to do due to a change in law of physics from the prequel incident. They also have a way to turn matter into energy in the form of ether. None the less, that still doesn't change the fact that Musashi is one of the largest vessels in their world, even though it isn't designed for war.

True. But still... Musashi's size based in actual data is visually unconvincing when viewed.. I rechecked the scenes from last seasons and I thought its half of the actual size.. hehehe

That's because there was nothing to compare it to. You never actually see it compared to a human, for example, because as soon as you zoom out enough to see the ship itself, the human would have vanished from view. The only thing you could have visualise was the small barge that crashed at the end of the 2nd season ep 2.

7 kilometres is hard to imagine. This is why being at the back of the ship, Futayo was unable to help those who are being attacked by the British at the front end. The fight was going to only last 7 minutes at best, so there was actually no way for her to help because she can't get there in time.

You have to bear in mind....there's an entire town on that ship...as in actual urban settlements built into it

What is the name of SW's biggest ship? I forgot that name, only remember it is around 15km lenght.

And Musashi even bigger than Babylon 5.
