I'm not sure if I want to pick this one up considering that I absolutely dropped Hidan no Aria at Episode 5.

welp this is interesting and unexpected. I prefer AA more because it become grounded and not supernatural wars. While the main is good until vol 5 the later on is unstable in terms of what is interesting and what is not.

Nice :D I was dreading the idea of there being more Aria animated, but if its the spinoff, I can get behind it.

For those who don't know, the spinoff features a whole different cast, and from what I've read so far, its way more subdued, meaning no insane reincarnation BS, or at least nowhere as stupid. Also, that girl next to Aria isn't just the main heroine, but protagonist (i.e no males around).

Nothing spectacular, but that also means its harmless, unlike the main series, which makes my brain hurt. This, I honestly had fun with and can look forward to.

Well it's not like Deen can always turn something into a bad adaptation, they did better job at working on some series. I'm pretty sure they could work on this one with a decent job I guess.

Kinji is still around but his role is more like the antagonist or rather the protagonist views him as antagonist -_- poor guy >_> And he only appears once.

After that its girls fighting girls.

Imo if they played it straight it's probably 'fine', otherwise it's just trading one form of fanservice with another.

You want a series with mostly girls to play it straight? :heh:

But really, what do you mean? Let me tell you, the spinoff has very little fanservice, given the MC is no male or lolicon.

In simpler terms, think of Soul Eater Not! with many less cameos and more actual fighting.
