I just want to say that Frolaytia is ripped as confirmed during the workout sessions. :P

Nice change of setting this episode and there's just the finale left to go. The mirror analogy is a bit disturbing with the Baby Magum out of control now D:

Ok show a little heavy handed with the whole saying that saving the Elite and destroying the Object would make them real heroes :heh:. Gee, I wonder what that was implying....Certainly not that the climax is going to be Qwenthur and Havia taking down the Baby Magnum and saving Milinda at the same time....Plus isn't the show kind of forgetting that Qwenthur already has saved an Elite pilot? He didn't kill Miss "ohoho"

Though I'm not sure they have to do any of the destroying this time. I mean Rush has Baby Magnum beat in terms of tech. The only reason Milinda wins these encounters against higher tier Objects is because she has Qwenthur backing her up. Just not helping her solves that part of the equation. The bigger issue is getting in there and yanking her out.

I can believe that this is an anime-original arc to end the show. I mean a nice and pleasant interaction with Qwenthur and Milinda...nah that would never actually happen in the novels ;).

LazyHunter 2016-03-18 14:31

Well, I had hoped we'd get an original Object and not just another Baby Magnum vs Rush. Nothing much to say about the episode in this thread, hopefully next episode is better. The scene with Quenser and Milinda was nice and the banter between Milinda and Oh Ho Ho were good, though.

Pretty much agreed all around. And I'm sure that somehow, the mirror Qwenthur gave her will end up being what saves her. Because why not.

Wait, i dont get this mirror of the truth system.

Is this some kind of hypnosis attack? Instant brain wash? So basically what princess see and hear is complete 180 from what the person saying? So if qwenty said stand by, she hear it as "go there"? Something like that?

Yeah, no doubt about that :). Of course when he gives her a gift it's the key to the whole arc.

I think it's a very convenient level of brainwashing. Probably to the point where if they say anything....she'll do what they don't want. "Stay put?" "Attack" "Attack" "Ok Attack." It'd probably be too easy for them just to tell her the opposite. It sounds like whatever she's told, she must do the most negative interpretation of it. If there's any way to interpret what she's told or sees in a negative fashion she'll do it.

If Rush powered down, she'd presume it had some secret weapon to attack her when her guard is down and thus she'd still attack.

Yan3242 2016-03-18 15:08

^i see, so she become a singleminded robot which pretty much interpet everything in a bad/negative way without any good or even neutral moral consciousness/decision?

That.... Even more scary than brainwash.

Easily the best episode so far.

Chaos2Frozen 2016-03-18 16:58

Bwahahaha! Indeed this should be the way Kamachi should implement his love for ironic situations! I thought it would be all three factions ganging up on Baby Magnum but this is even better! To fight against the very Object they've spent the whole season protecting is brilliant! The best part is I have absolutely no idea what's going to happen next!

One thing that is not so obvious in the books but on hindsight plenty obvious in visual form is the chekhov's gun set up that he likes to use (In this case the mirror). I've also don't like the Guru lecturing Qwenthur and Haivia about being a 'hero' by not killing anyone, one of the main draw of this series for me is that the two of them don't have that luxury to pick and choose who lives or dies. This is combat and they recognized and accept it.

Other good things I like are the little things like Frolaytia working out and out performing the guys, as well as Hime's deadpan "Ohohoho" :D

And you know what? Going in blind, the show is still as good to me :)

EDIT:

LOL Shizuka Itou, every single time :heehee:

I am glad they didn't give Frolaytia one of the barbie waist that you typically see in anime as well as western comic characters. It made her 10 times sexier.

SO once they capture Milinda will it be?

"What are the numbers Milinda? What do they mean?!"

Frolaytia, Ohoho, All must die.....

"Must destroy all love rivals!" Actually with that kind of answer are we even sure she's still brainwashed ;)?

Guess now we know what the list contains. Are we sure Milianda is brainwashed and she actually didn't just finally snap:uhoh: ?

Shlugo 2016-03-18 18:05

This episode was really heavy handed with Guru pretty much stating outright what's it's all about. Also couldn't help but notice that this would all been avoided if they just disabled the tower as soon as they arrived instead of going to the house first.

Now let's see how they save Princess. No matter how ominous the preview wants to sound it's obvious they'll succeed.

From a meta perspective, they save her and it means nothing.

If the enemy threats were real and she couldn't be fixed, she'd be discharged from the military and possibly confined in a holding cell as a threat to herself and others.

That was probably my biggest problem with the episode. They provided no reason other than derping to not destroy it.

Indeed, there's no chance at all they can't snap her out of it. In the end we can't take a guy called Honeysuckle that seriously :heh:. The mirror probably a key, but Qwenthur will get Milinda back to he senses and then probably miss any meaning behind how she thanks him for that :). You just can't save her physically or else it'd be the situation you laid out. As bad if not worse than Ohoho who was actively doubting those around her.

Yeah, it'd be much more Qwenthur to just slap a few hand axes on that thing and blow it up before doing anything else. He's usually pretty fast to figure out what the problem in a situation is and quickly defuse it.
