My vague recollection is that it's more yuri-bait than true yuri.

They all seem to be bait these days and as escapist as ever. But I guess it sells more than young adults mixing escapism with growth. I often wonder if Otherside Picnic was adapted accurately, would things be different?

Not sure why you would draw the line at Urasekai Picnic... the source is okay but its nothing that amazing from what I read. Magirevo was probably better and saw actual relationship progress... though more often than not LN yuri seems to be about a slow burn.

There's plenty of better examples for progress. But they generally don't get adapted. I'm guessing Vexations is mainly a comfort title.

I dunno, I'm expecting something between Magirevo and Executioner. We'll see next week though.

There's more yuri than ever getting adapted nowadays, but there's still nothing getting a second cour. It has to happen eventually right? :eyespin:

Episode 1 was fun but I'm a bit conflicted... I'll see how it shakes out when the cast fills out.

Oh man, I was looking forward to this when seeing the trailers and it turns out to be a super silly show with actually not that good character designs. Gets one more episode to see if it improves, but a likely drop.

episode 1:

surprised and pleased to know that this is also airing this season.

perverted meido is gonna have plenty of fun with Komari.

"The Strawberry Milk Formula" is perfect to blackmail the loli. xD

with this anime and Watashi no Oshi wa Akuyaku Reijou, I have so much yuri to watch this season. What a nice time to be alive indeed. haha

episode 2:

Komari has an interesting group of officers.. a pedobear, a warmonger, and a rapper? lol

that rap battle is so entertaining.

when Millicent mentioned killing the empress, those guys just talk. But when Millicent mentined Komari, they attack her right away. Looks like they are loyal to Komari after all.

Villhaze worked hard digging all those holes. Komari is lucky to have someone like her.

The show is pretty dumb. But it's just hanging in there by being funny enough.

Plus Komari and Villhaze are both really cute which carries a lot of weight :D.

One good thing I guess is that Komari's life isn't really at risk. This warped society where people just kind of spring back to life prevents that. But I do get her desire to not die...since that would hurt.

Props to Villhaze. That poison was a great move. What the guy deserves anyways for wanting to harm someone as cute as Komari!

episode 3:

sad that Millicent is a really bad person. I think she's beautiful, almost like a gacha game character.

anyway, things got serious. Vill is in danger, and Komari going to rescue her meido.

Man, how convenient for that one evil girl that literally no one ever does anything to stop her properly, or don't ever notice her, or just let her get close to them when they know she's dangerous, Japanese bad guy just has to Japanese bad guy I guess.

Well, Millicent is an effective scumbag to move the story forward. I mean an impressive lunatic that seems like they made a character mould and filled it up with pure evil. Dirtbag bully as a kid and a terrorist as an adult. Impressive that she managed to just get worse as time went on.

I guess there has to be a reveal coming that rage mode Komari is crazy powerful. So possible that her facade of being powerful won't entirely be that long term. Of course who knows how strong she really is, but will see. Kind of needs to be since Vill is in bad shape and the guy she keeps "killing" is bleeding out right now.

Ignoring the psycho for a minute, I do think the logic that killing is kind of pointless if no one dies...is kind of accurate. Even Komari thinks the whole war situation is just stupid. Everyone is out "killing" but everyone picks themselves up later. Turning killing and war into "harmless" entertainment. Could probably find different forms of entertainment.

Either way, it was nice to finally get why Vill is so obsessed. Well besides the fact that Komari is ridiculously cute :).

episode 4:

that was a deliciously violent fight. Komari prove to her men that she is indeed strong!

looking forward to the next member of her harem.. err... I mean the new girl next week!! :D
