Wow. How are they going to do the rampant English (surprisingly good in the later volumes) in the anime? Writing good English is one thing, speaking it is another.

That's not a scanlation, that's a raw. It's like that in many places throughout the manga. The girl in that page is the same one gracing that website for the anime, Levy/Revy, and she speaks only English. The other main character is the guy, who's a translator Levy's group hires. The mangaka writes her dialogue in Japanese when it's just her, the translator, her group, and any other English language-capable character in the scene, but it's assumed that they're all speaking English, but the mangaka didn't feel he had to write them all into English.

But the setting is mainly Japan. And throughout the manga the main characters interact with the natives, so you have both English and Japanese being thrown around, plus some Russian in some points.

Now, the big question: Just HOW are you going to do this in the anime???:heh:

Wrong forum, as it's not fansubbed (yet) and therefore belongs into the general Anime section. Also, it won't be released "this winter," unless you mean winter 2006 :P There is no aidate known yet.

oh well, it seems my Black Lagoon anime thread goes out of existence due to the last forum offline.

Anyway if this anime can do well in following the manga faithfully, it may turn out to be the best gangster gun fight action anime ever, and maybe one of the most controversial too, it portrays drug abuse, corrupt cops, hired killers, pirates and crime syndicates in cruel and realistic but non-negative ways. Also the John Woo-style gunfights are simply the best, the author is clearly a Hong Kong gangster movie fan :cool:

Its based on a manga thats serialized in the seinen(young men's) manga magazine Sunday Gene-X (Sunday GX).

well, the info is not quite correct. The company didn't exactly send mercenaries to shut his mouth, they just want to destroy the Black Lagoon before it reaches its destination, and if Rock is killed along with the pirates, that's just an unfortunate collateral damage.

I've been waiting for an anime forever.

I wish I can see more blood in this anime....
Hardcore violence + chicks with guns + yuri flavour.... hmm..... yummy.... definitely my taste.

Can anyone confirm any of the airing dates, because I read in NEWTYPE 2 months ago that this thing was suppose to air in February...I've been waiting for a while, what's the deal? Anyone know? I mean hardcore info with a link not just specualation...

Ah, this looks pretty good. This anime fills in the gap on Saturdays so now my each day of the week has at least one anime to look forward to. :p

There's enough blood in this manga to flood Tokyo in the manga, so if they follow the manga close enough, you'll fill your blood lust.

Also, the official site says April the 8th is the airing date.

started off with a US.dollar,a gun made from thailand,a girl wearing short trouser.
the opening song is very similar to the opening of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni and rockie.

Well a question about licensing.I am guessin it's prelicensed right, cus at the end credits it lists Geneon so basically if you see that, then it's 100% a sure thing right.
