Yeah, that one novel actually covers both Kuroh and Neko's pasts (as they hang out in a love hotel, lol) but I can't think of any side material I've seen that touches on Gold though.

That's my impression as well, none of them question what Mikoto is doing at all in invading the school and act, well, a lot more thuggish than they did in the manga and I found the difference a bit...
