Fair enough, but they aren't meant to be solving the epitaph.

And if solving the epitaph is dependant on asking the servants about the interior of the chapel, how do Eva and Rosa solve it?

Yeah, exactly. Like in ep 2, noone really knew about the chapel till everyone turned up dead in it. THEN they were able to read the inscription, which gave a useful hint, but until then...

Although I can't see anything pointing to the church or the inscription...
