The only reason anything would sound an octave lower or higher is if the person who tabbed it didn't tab it right. You have an entire 88 key...

Just taking a stab in the dark, you might want to put the Gain at about 8
Bass at about 5, Mid and Treb at about 8. Reverb at about 2-3....
