I don't think there is any specific reason besides adding an extra twist, but I was fine with it. Considering she was voiced by Charlottes seiyuu there always meant to becsome twist with her.

"Cinderella" was probably the most consistent one. They took the story, changed the setting and added the twist. It was not to straightfiorward and interesting.
