Zerria's first case with TSAB! Fire!
Technically, Zerria's Profile II, which shed some light on his character.
Spoiler for Investigation File #7:Encephalon:
MC 075, August 17th.
Riot Force HQ, Commander's Room.
Mid-childa.
Amidst her uniformed room, the room meant for a unit commander, the leader of Riot Force 6, on a peaceful day passing by as nothing major happening in the past weeks, none of Relics, none of Jail Scaglietti…
Sipping her cup of coffee, as she reviewed her past job involvement as an officer of the Special Investigations, her eyes darkened as she took a look at a particular line…
ID SC0134687767.
The ID Code to that solved terrorist bombing incident 8 years ago… or at least so it seemed.
Because even now, there was so many unanswered questions relating to that incident… Everything seemed closed too conveniently, and all the mysteries centered on one boy who was related to that incident then…
Back then, he was known as Nowe Unn...
A fake identity that somehow managed to elude us, for he had perfect background records, with parents, schooling…everything.
Now, he is known as a medium-scale intra-dimensional criminal, suspected of several criminal incidents, without a single proof…code named :Encephalon.
Everything began 8 years ago…

MC 067, September 14th.
Mid-childa Ground Central, Investigations.
Mid-childa.
Amidst a dark room, a young child, seemingly no more than 13 sat down, as he was faced by a stern adult military officer, and yet his look was unfazed, as he paid little attention to the angered man in front of him, and paid far more attention to the drink he was drinking slowly…
His black hair that seems one with the dark room, and his golden eyes that seem totally foreign with that environment that surrounded him… everything seemed surreal, as words were exchanged between the 2 parties, as their demeanor stayed.
From outside, a few more officers were taking a look at the interrogation, which was clear to them… it was a losing battle for the officer. The boy was not remotely threatened by the elder’s aggressive presence, but rather took comfort in it instead.
Not to mention it was just last month that his wife and daughter died in an accident… And despite that, he still worked hard as if he wasn’t affected at all. Even so, those close to him can tell that he was very pained, as he loved his family dearly despite being a workaholic…
Hayate, watching the meaningless banter decided to do it on her own way, as she entered the room, motioning the other officer to be replaced, as she smiled.
“I’m sorry for the Sergeant’s rude behavior. He’s been through some personal problems, and thus is emotionally not as professional as he is…”
“I can tell.” A soft, lingering whisper, just barely audible voiced out through his cords...
"Perhaps you would feel more comfortable if you’re speaking with someone closer to your age…Nowe-kun? Or should I call you Nowe-sensei?”
“Before asking permission on addressing someone, isn’t it courtesy to tell yours before hand? I am under the impression I’m only a suspect, not a convict. As for myself, no need for formalities. It ruins the point of being close in age.”
His tone stayed the same, despite facing a younger and more relaxed girl in front of him, just as she too, held her ground as she fulfilled her role.
“Special Investigations Officer, Yagami Hayate.”
“A SIO at your age… Impressive.”
“Thanks for the compliment. But I suppose compared to you, it’s nothing right? Nowe Unn, at 14 years old, you’ve already received one of Mid-childa’s highest acknowledgement of human and science paradigm studies, as well as getting a 2nd degree mastership of interdimensional law studies, human and artificial ghost psychology and engineering of artificial intelligence… It’s said that you excel at many other things as well, but you weren’t allowed to undertake that much courses.
3 days ago, you were invited to a seminar on connections between artificial and human psychology… and 4 men, unrelated to one another in any way, were part of the seminar you conducted…all of them who were involved in the terrorist incident last night. ”
“And that is why I am brought in…However, let me tell you this. It’s a waste of time. I suppose you’re doing an autopsy, but it will have nothing to do with me on that regard. Lock me up if you wish. I will be found innocent.”
“Confident, aren’t you? However, if you’re not going to cooperate, then we have no choice but to place you under temporary confinement, until verdict comes out. Is that fine with you?”
“I’m fine with it.”
Saying that, 2 officers came in and escorted him to his placehold… however, before stepping out of the room, a word escaped him…
“A word of advice, Officer Yagami.”
As he turned his head, he spoke ever so slightly…
“Sometimes, the connection of people run far deeper than what we perceive. Especially since we’re all that fragile.”
As a last whisper..
“You too… have something lingering…I can tell.”
It was something that eluded her. But it didn’t matter… It was of no importance to either then.
As he sat in his locked room, the furthest end of a collection of rooms, nearby a small prison cell of its own… he only smiled as he counted the seconds… opening his watch…
“It should take approximately 30 minutes for an autopsy to be done… More than enough time…”
As if he knew beforehand, his door opened up… as the officer before Hayate, the elderly man came in, his eyes phased, as he felt threatened, fearful in front a boy less than half his age, as his golden eyes seemed to look deep inside him…
“Don’t be afraid, officer… The walls are eyeless, open up your heart’s weakness… just like they did…
And you too, will feel reborn as a being.”
As if playing a tune of change, he released his watch from his palm as the metal chains swung like a pendulum for that watch, a slow motion moving left…to right, and back…
And his magic without magic began, as he instilled the fear inside him…
30 minutes. That would be more than enough.
~~~
Meanwhile…
“Based on the autopsy and the medical records… none.”
“…None?”
“Yes, there was absolutely no trace of any magic or medication that could’ve caused them to do this. Not to mention, prior to that incident, the investigation team found out that they all went to different institutions for a medical check-up, and all of them were found to be perfectly normal and healthy.”
“There was no motive, no connections, no demands, no external factors whatsoever… the only connection between the criminals was that they’ve all went to the seminar of human studies conducted by that boy, but all evidence, alibi proves that there was no way he could’ve done that.
Unless you want to imply that without magic, medication whatsoever, with only 3 hours, he could’ve made them do this… It’s impossible.”
A sound of continuous fire repeated…
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The sound of ominous fires rang through the base, as the sound emits itself from the cells.
As a group of officers ran their way through the office building into the cell-sector… they saw…one of their own, holding a conventional gun weapon that was confiscated, and kept in storage and shooting randomly to the prisoners in that cell…
The sound of quivering criminals in fear as the ghastly eyes looked for the preys he intends to shoot… only one boy, sitting at the very end of the cells, looked calm as he smiled profusely at the sight before him…
Another shot blasted…and this time, he shot himself in his head, as the blood splattered and hit the surroundings, already covered thick in blood, as the boy gave a almost unheard clap, signaling the end of the spectacle…
And as if completely satisfied, he opened his cell doors as if it was never locked, as he walked his way out slowly…
“Wait! What do you think you’re!”
“I’m already proven innocent, right? What more right is there for you to keep me there?”
With those words, he casually walked his way out as he took out his silver watch from his pocket…
“One last thing, officer…”
A small whisper, as he vanished…
~~~
The case closed without any leads or connection whatsoever…
“Human hearts are just inadequate, and that weakness is their links.”
That was his last words… and it was something we should’ve taken to heart. As one week later, the person known as Nowe Unn ceased to exist. All previous records of him were erased from every single database which relates to him from his earliest childhood, to his arrest records. Most of his colleagues from his university days have little recollection of him, as if they were under a spell which was just broken.
Even his parents… whom just a day ago, were successful people, were found crazy and insane in their household…and it seemed to had been so for several years now…
And his room, empty, to the point of dustless…It was like Nowe Unn never existed to begin with.
But we know he do…for he left behind something…
Inside his room, graffiti was drawn on the walls there… with a single sentence…
Encephalon was here.
That was the beginning of the man known to TSAB as Encephalon...
The first mark of his son...
It was the first strain left by the existence of the unlimited desires...
The bloodline of Jail Scaglietti, the blood of Alhazred.
~~~
As if an ironic twist fate, at the same time...another strain of that bloodline, one of its origin... was left...
On the body of a young child, amidst the falling snow, dyed red with blood, just as a red knight held her frail body...
"Nanoha! Nanoha!"
Watching from afar, a victorious smirk was etched the face of a woman...as she adjusted her glasses...
As for what's maybe coming up next for me...
Or at least something like that...haven't really started writing.
