Just to be sure, though, did Shamsel ever do anything to cause him to face extreme reprimands, if not court marcial? It's not a problem if he didn't, but it would make a nice detail.

Yays!
Shamsel has a place to stay now!
Extreme reprimands? Hmmm, well remember his latest 'incident'? Without much information to go on besides him, the crater, and bodies (and body parts) the officers in command had charged him with illegal use of high-level magic, disregard of protocol, and multiple accounts of murder. If it wasn't for some higher-ups who had access to his high-level personnel files, he probably wouldn't be in the TSAB or possibly alive right now
(and who also classified the incident so the charges never left those directly involved, except for 'minor' ones like disregard of protocol as a cover-up).
Guess I can write up a new bit on Shamsel. Don't abuse him too much, ne Keroko?
Spoiler for Reporting In:
Upon entering the large structure, Shamsel stopped by the front desk to inquire about where to find his future commanding officer. He nods his thanks and heads out to the nearest elevator. Two wrong turns later, the Lieutenant finally finds the door he's looking for. He pauses for a moment to collect himself, the name Captain Keroko Takamachi on the door staring back at him before reaching out and knocking.
Saying that he wasn't nervous would be a small lie. After hearing a voice inside telling him to enter, he opens the door and steps inside the office. Saying that he wasn't nervous as he stood in front of his new commanding officer, bags by his side as he stands at attention saluting would be a HUGE lie.
"1st Lieutenant Shamsel Nagisa reporting for duty, ma'am!"
He knew that she was sent a copy of his personnel file once his transfer was authorized, as per protocol. What he didn't know was how MUCH she had been sent. Sure he might have gotten into a few fights back in BT trying to stand up for his friends, but what really worried him was that last incident that got him here in the first place. He had seen the reports of when the attack started and after the barrier fell, but part of it was a blur to him. All he could remember was being surrounded and engaging the hostiles. Then, his teammates falling on by one...then waking up in the medial room on the ship. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't remember the missing details and it scared him. What scared him even more was that it felt like this wasn't the first time it had happened.
After hearing the charges against him, he thought his carrier...his life was over. Then next thing he knew most of them were dropped out of the blue. While he couldn't say that he was extremely relieved, it bothered him as to why they were dropped and only a few lesser charges remained. What he didn't know was that his personnel file made no reference at all to the dropped charges and some of the details of the incident were left out, leaving just the details of the ambush and that he was the sole survivor of the ground team. There was, however, an indicator on the file that there was more information, but required high-level clearance to access.
He quickly banished the thoughts from his mind. Right now he had more important things to think about, namely his superior in front of him who had his file in her hands.
