Basically, unless they fix it in FES, you can max a social link with one girl first and then move on with another girl without worrying about any penalties to the social link you just completed. The only time I can recall where your social link would worsen is when you finally get into a relationship with multiple girls at the same time. Your social links will decrease I think, and you'll get mad/jealous girls (Mitsuru
) if you're going out with multiple girls at one time. I said "get into the relationship" because you have to raise the social link to a few levels before it's an official thing.
