Spoiler:
One might think, now that they have shown Kanon and Shannon together, they've got to be seperate entities. However, is it really that straightforward? I'll attempt to argue that, the theory isn't completely out of the window yet.
First, let's start with the counterclaims we have been seeing, and locate the moments where Shannon and Kanon are together (and sighted by others). Besides the scene where they are alone, or working with the other servants only, or in the meta-world, three scenes comes to mind:
1. Furudo Erika's first appearance, with everyone gathered in the room.
2. Dining room, before someone knocked the door.
3. At Kinzo's room when Erika is trying to prove Kinzo's death.
Second, it's Rule #10. 手がかりなきほかの人物への変装を禁ず。
Let's start with Rule #10. First of all, in this case, we have two people = 1 person, not 1 person is actually two people. Also, Kanon/Shannon aren't any one new, we have seen them since ep1.
Then it's just the sighting of the two scenes. While it seems that having them together seems to seal the deal...
It's again, open to manipulation and accepted by Rule #9. Not once was it shown from Erika's POV that she saw Shannon and Kanon. Again, human Erika is the detective, and only her POV is absolute truth. So, scene #2, where Erika isn't even present, is definitely open to manipulation.
Also, who can guarantee that Erika wasn't shown a fantasy scene? Just as Battler was shown all those magical battles, Erika could've been shown one of them arguments.
In the end, Erika can be shown to be with Shannon and Kanon; but unless we see it from Erika's POV, nothing is final.
Another related point, which makes this kind of fishy, is LD's red text during that scene. All the characters are shown, and LD proclaims that "the number of people in the lounge is the same as the number of people on this island". It is as if she's hiding something; why can't see just say "there's 17 people on this island and they are all in the lounge right now"? Having us to equate # of people in the lounge with number of people on the island is suspicious. Also, I don't think there were much, if any, red text regarding Shannon and Kanon this time around...

You're forgetting the scene where she says Natsuhi is the criminal. That part wasn't Meta-world beacuse she's just accusing, the trial afterwards is meta-world, but not that part. She clearly states ''Shannon and Kanon please close the doors'', and those words come from her mouth from a board-scene, so it can be said that both exist since she names both of them and that means they're both on the same place under her PoV, or you're trying to tell that close the doors was a meta-world thing, come on that happened!!!
Most likely Ryuukishi made an in-your-face with Shannon=Kanon theory, since he down't even need to use red to disprove it.
