Maybe Vegapunk even upgraded them since we last saw them at the archipelago, which would make the situation even worse.

Actually, my guess is that either some new pirates are gonna emerge, or some of the other pirates will start attacking the Pacifistas, and maybe wiping them out one by one, showing the gap in power between the Strawhat Pirates, and the Pirates of the New World.
Dunno, seems like an Oda thing to do.
