And military hardwares are not necessary spec'ed balls to the walls. Tolerances are set at just adequate levels to allow performance, mass production and durability balance. You have to bear in mind the setting of Sora no Woto states those are old lost technology. There won't be any windows update. Also, we know about tolerances today but in this anime, maybe they don't. Relax. It's an anime.
