IMO Sonic hasn't had good music since the Genesis era. It's depressing as hell how far the franchise has fallen even in that category. As hilarious as Crush 40 is it's still a far cry from the likes of what Dreams Come True came up with for the original game and ditto for the Michael Jackson ripoff soundtrack that was Sonic 3 & Knuckles.

Well I love the Genesis-era tunes as well. I mean they're some of the most memorable video game songs (And also awesome remix material). I just like the modern day BGM too.
Anyway, aside from Sonic there are a few other soundtracks I found very awesome, like Mario Galaxy's incedible orchastration, Paper Mario 2's awesome synth themes, the Viewtiful Joe soundtrack, F-Zero GX's soundtrack and SSBB's staggering variety of well-known songs.
