For those who are still stumped, I found a couple of nice designs from animepaper. I don't have the papers to download so they are just large thumbnails.

I see arrows on strokes, in Illustrator. I guess you could do all that in Photoshop too but its just so... ugh (no clever scalling, precise tools, stroke management, shape management, twirl tool etc etc). Anyway too lazy to install Illustrator on this computer too so the above will have to do.
