Clannad came out alright though. It summarised the story in 48 episodes, though. XD
Really I think it's Maeda's inexperience with anime being so short.
If this gets cleared for another 3 cours, making 48-52 episodes, then I think this will be fully fleshed out.
Either that, or a VN. XD
