Spoiler for final thoughts:
Well... It was indeed Strike Witches like...
Spend a whole bunch of episodes on silly stuff... and then in the end, there is not enough time to do anything serious. And boy, was that a hilarious and chaotic last episode, may it be the setting destruction or the fact the characters somehow could somehow defy the laws of the world (like seeing a sword stuck on top when they were below the ship, or the fact the sword somehow managed to be brought up to the coast by waves and stick at that angle).
Also, a lot of repeated developments was dull. The captain of the ship was a broken record looping around, Yoshika breaks orders and takes off for who knows how many times in this one season, etc. etc. Really, the whole series ran on not following orders...
The very end of the series was "good", which is great. A good end can make even the worst stories feel good.
Though little of the plot actually was resolved, like Yoshika's father or the human-shaped neuroid. Not disappointed though, since I never expected this series to care about the plot.
So, 7/10, I guess. Kind of fun, good end, everything else poorly done.
