Come on, there are hundreds of anime/manga examples out there that show that "love for the childhood friend" is just friendship, nothing more. Any 'newer' girl who likes a guy that has a girl childhood friend is gonna feel inferior, because of the experiences they've had together =0\.
I don't see where exactly it shows that he hangs out with her often or is implied that he does. Feel free to point out any examples to enlighten my vision.
