This is actually what bothers me the most; the bystander effect only really applies to single isolated incidents. I have trouble accepting that not even a single student would be brave/intelligent enough to contact the authorities after seeing Aeka suffer undeservedly every single day, but no one, not even Kouhei, ends up doing this.
Tragic stories only work if they're believable.
